This race began as a way for Poppy’s devoted owner to give back after her puppy survived Parvo with the help of a veterinary assistance program. Since then, it’s grown into a powerful fundraiser supporting local rescues that help animals in need. Register by September 15, 2026, to receive a race t-shirt and swag bag!

All registered racing Wiener dogs are welcome the Sunday only of Oktoberfest to zip, zag, and run to the finish line! Your Dachshund will be given a numbered hot dog bun costume and run 150 feet from one end of the Dash to the other. Dogs will run in heats of five to six pups. Wieners (winners) receive prizes! Pre-registration is required.

Gobble your way through scenic vineyards, where each mile is paired with a sip of something delicious. Fido is welcome to join you at this race, but please note that dogs must remain leashed and aren't permitted inside winery buildings.

On the third Saturday of each month this spring, leashed dogs are welcome at this outdoor market featuring live music, a variety of local vendors, and access to TUPPS Brewery's on-site food hall and craft beers.

McKinney’s Home for the Holidays is a festive, free community event transforming Historic Downtown into a winter wonderland with a dazzling tree lighting, visits with Santa, children’s crafts, a charming carousel, and Frosty’s Holiday Train. Start the New Year with a hike at Isle du Bois! Join one or all three hikes for the Tri-Park-A-Thon. Dogs are welcome on secure leashes, and if they're vaccinated and socialized. Meet at the Boat Ramp parking lot for a moderate, 2-mile hike on the Randy Bell Scenic Trail. Bring water, trail shoes and dress for the weather.

The Arthritis Foundation’s race is the original festive race for charity with your pup. It’s where you can strut your stuff in your favorite holiday costume. Bring a team of friends, family, and co-workers to run or walk. Please ensure your dog is kept on a leash. Check-in starts at 9 AM and the race begins at 10 AM.

Philbrook Museum of Art opens its gardens for leashed dogs to stroll, sniff, and relax with their owners during this program held the third Sunday of each month! Enjoy a full day in the gardens, bring a water bowl, and follow simple rules that keep the experience safe, clean, and welcoming for everyone.

Gathering Place’s Dog Play Days welcome leashed dogs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays only, so owners can walk and socialize their pets on permitted pathways and grassy areas. Dogs are permitted daily on Tuckabache Trail (formerly Midland Valley Trail) and RiverParks Trail. Please note that pups aren't permitted in buildings, play areas, water features and landscaped areas.
