Weather permitting, leashed dogs are welcome each Thursday to enjoy an evening of live music with the beautiful background of the Toccoa River. Picnic tables are available, and there's a grassy lawn where visitors are welcome to set up their own blankets or lawn chairs.

This beloved community event invites you and your pup to enjoy a fun-filled day with a scenic group walk, live music, tasty food trucks, dog-themed contests, and plenty of pet-friendly vendors. Participants receive a Dog Walk t-shirt and goodie bag, plus the chance to connect with local rescues, all while supporting a great cause alongside fellow animal lovers.

Participants will walk, jog or run along the scenic, hilly course that winds through the 230-acre property, offering glimpses of retired research chimpanzees in their forested habitats. This event provides a rare opportunity to visit the sanctuary, which is not typically open to the public, while supporting the care of over 80 rescued chimps. Along the way, attendees can enjoy interactive educational stations, learn about chimp conservation, and take part in fun, family-friendly activities. Pets of all shapes and sizes are welcome with their owners of all faiths to participate in the service; however, appropriate restraint should be provided for all animals. Those who attend are invited to bring a donation for the Humane Society. In the event of rain, simply drive through Grace Church's covered driveway along Boulevard to receive a blessing!

Hailed as one of the “10 Best Fall Harvest Festivals in the Nation," this annual festival is a celebration of the autumn harvest and Haywood County’s agricultural heritage. Visit the famous town of Waynesville, nestled in the NC Smoky Mountains. The downtown streets are filled with almost 200 arts and craft booths, food concessions, music, cloggers, and more. Local apple growers set up on the street to sell delicious mountain grown apples of a vast variety. In addition, many vendors offer apple cider, cake, pies, and other delectable apple goodies! Dogs must be leashed at all times.

Runners and their pups will take on wide, easy-to-navigate trails featuring rolling, flowy terrain for the first three miles, followed by a one-mile climb back to the finish. Traditional leashes and canicross setups are welcome, but please note flexi-leashes or face collars are not permitted. Fido can join the 4-mile dog-friendly race, or watch from the sidelines as the regular 4-mile race begins 30 minutes later.
