Dog Events in Washington, GA

The in-person canicross race features 5K, 10K (two laps), and a 1.25-mile sprint distance on challenging technical trails with uneven terrain, elevation changes, and natural obstacles. Whether you're a seasoned trail runner or new to the sport, there’s a race for every skill level. Take on the ultimate challenge by completing all three distances to earn the Tri-Hound Crown - an exclusive team title for dog-and-human duos. Children under 15 must run with a registered adult, and all competitors should come ready for a day of adventure, teamwork and muddy paws!

At select home games, attendees are welcome to bring their pup out for a hockey game with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits! Please ensure your pup is leashed at all times. There will be a dog race at intermission (advance registration required).

Leashed dogs are welcome to enjoy the farm with you! Guests can explore a sprawling corn maze, pick pumpkins, enjoy a mega slide, zipline, ropes course, jumping pillow, gem mining, tractor tire playground, cow train, and more. With tasty concession areas serving everything from kettle corn to funnel cakes and BBQ, there’s something delicious for every appetite.

Bring your furry friends, big or small, and watch them strike adorable poses with Santa! Pet Photos will be located JCPenney Court Lower Level. Photos will be taken and available for purchase at this event. Reservations are recommended but not required.

This annual Thanksgiving day tradition starts with a 5K race at 8:00 AM, followed by a Kids 1K Fun Run at 9:15 AM. Dogs are welcome to participate at the back of the runners. Participants will receive a crewneck sweatshirt and a custom finisher medal, while kids will also receive a fun run medal. The event supports Meals by Grace, a local organization providing meals to those in need. The race is rain or shine.

Leashed dogs are welcome on the 1 mile course throughout the wellness park, or the 5K course through the streets of downtown. During the 5K there will be one water station along the route as well as at the finish line. Registration for all participants includes a t-shirt and finishers' medal.

Walk off that Thanksgiving meal with Fido on a guided 3-mile hike starting at the park's visitor's center to the covered bridge. You'll learn some fun facts from your Naturalist guide along the way. Please ensure your dog is leashed, bring water and wear appropriate shoes. Reservations are required.

Bring Fido for a photo with Santa! You'll receive one 4x6 print and all the hi-res digital images emailed to you.

Festively dressed pups march from the new Swamp Rabbit Animal Hospital down the trail to Main Street. The fun wraps up at the Gazebo, where Best Dressed judging begins at 5:45 PM with prizes and treats for all participating pets. Enjoy a cheerful, tail-wagging holiday stroll full of adorable outfits, great photo moments, and plenty of community spirit. The event takes place during the Holiday Hop & Christmas Market!

This dog-friendly holiday celebration features a festive Christmas market and a themed parade (parade begins at 6 PM). Guests can browse local vendors, enjoy seasonal festivities and watch colorful floats and entries make their way through the community.

Kick off the holiday season with Fido at this annual parade! Floats will parade down Main Street, turning left onto Porter Street at the Lazy Hiker. Turning left again onto Palmer Street at the red light ending at the Highlands Road Intersection. You'll see fire trucks, EMS, police cars, floats, trucks, cars and walkers!

Celebrate the holiday season with Fido at a festive community gathering featuring live holiday music, a holiday market filled with local vendors, photos with Santa, train rides, a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and seasonal activities for all ages. Leashed dogs are welcome; leashes must be six feet or shorter, and owners are expected to clean up after their pets. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

On two Saturdays this season, bring Fido along to downtown to enjoy the festivities! Each Saturday will feature different activities like the town's tree lighting, great photo opportunities, sales at downtown merchants, photos with Santa, and more.
