Yakima Mile Yakima Avenue closes to traffic as runners take over the one-mile stretch for the annual mile. The event features 11 heats, from a relaxed Family Mile to the fast-paced Elite Mile, all on a gradual downhill course that finishes beneath the historic Art Deco Larson Building. With advance tickets required, this tail-wagging experience includes pup cups, the option to take part in a Wild Drive adventure through roaming animal habitat, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy nature side-by-side with your canine companion.
