The Parliamentary Suite at Waddington Flats is where history meets the modern day. The design of our two-story loft was inspired by the architectural and historical significance of the British Columbia Parliament Buildings -- located just a 10 minute walk away. Elements from two different eras combine to create a sophisticated and comfortable place to stay while you visit BC's capital city.

The Parliamentary Suite is a 678 sq ft loft, with a full bathroom, kitchen, living room, balcony, and designated work area on the first floor. Going up the red carpet stairs, you will find the bedroom featuring a queen size bed, AC, ample closet space and access to our rooftop patio with stunning views of Victoria's Inner Harbour.
The colour palette for our loft was inspired by the Lower Rotunda, Reception Hall and Memorial Rotunda of the BC Parliament Buildings. Creamy white, taupe, rich apple spice red, along with gold and silver accents are seen throughout our unit. Intricate and traditional mouldings give the loft a traditional feel, while modern furnishings from West Elm, Pottery Barn and other modern outlets bring a modern and functional aspect to the space.
The Parliamentary Suite is your home away from home. Enjoy a fully stocked kitchen for the evenings you feel like cooking a homemade meal. Our rooftop patio includes a BBQ available for your private use. The living room includes a sofabed, allowing our space to comfortable sleep four people. A crib is available upon request. We provide cable TV and Netflix.
The top-floor bedroom overlooks the loft and features a queen-size bed, ample storage and A/C .
A comfortable designated workspace has been created for our guests who are working on the road, or need to attend a Zoom call.
With our central location, all of Downtown Victoria is within walking distance of our place. Including shopping, restaurants, BC Museum and IMAX theatre, Parliament and more! Another fun way to get around is with the Inner Harbour Ferry. The closest stop is within walking distance of our place. Public transit (bus) is also available, along with Evo (car share) and taxis. Uber is currently not available in the city (as of April 2022).
PARKING
There is no need to bring a car as almost everything is easy walking distance from our place. We are located right downtown! Unfortunately with our urban location, there is no parking in our building. If you do choose to drive, across the street from our alleyway (less than 60 meters from the building) is the Yates Street Parkade. The daily rate here is $17.50/day. City street parking (include the Yates Parkade) is free after 8pm every day. The parkade is free all day on Sundays and on statutory holidays. Please be sure to read the parking signage in the area that you parked in for any changes to the parking rules or for temporary parking restrictions. We keep our parking information as up to date as possible, but we are not responsible for any changes to the City of Victoria parking rules or temporary parking changes. Welcome to the trendy LoJo neighbourhood!
The seven suits of Waddington Flats were built in 2014 and are located in a history alley in the centre of the vibrant and trendy LoJo Neighbourhood (Lower Johnson). Brightly painted Victorian-era shop-fronts flank both sides of busy Lower Johnson Street between Wharf and Government Streets. Once home to hotels and stores supporting the gold rushes of the 1850s and 1890s, today the area is known for its local and independent trendy boutiques, vintage stores, and restaurants. Outside your front doorstep is Victoria's finest Italian restaurant, Il Terrazzo and around the corner is the heart of Victoria's shopping and dining mecca.
The character of the neighbourhood is what first attracted us to this property. The historic buildings and alleys connect you seamlessly to bustling streets with award winning restaurants, cocktail lounges, bars, pubs, coffee shops, yoga studios and boutique shops for clothes, apparel and more.
The iconic Parliament building is only a 5 minute walk along the waterfront and enjoy high tea at the Royal Fairmont Empress on your way!
TRAVELLING FROM VANCOUVER
The single easiest way to get from Vancouver to Victoria is take the "BC Ferries Connector" leaving from either YVR Airport or Downtown Vancouver to Downtown Victoria. The bus drives right on to the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay Ferry and the price of your bus ticket includes a 1h30m ferry ride over. We recommend you don't rent a car if you are 4 people or less! It's VERY expensive to put a car on the each way & the bus is so convenient.
When you get off the Ferry in Victoria you can also take public transit and take Bus #70 or 72 from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal to Douglas street at City Hall. (Only 3 blocks from our unit!).
The ferry is such a fun part of coming to Victoria, often times you can see whales!
For those willing to spend a bit more money, the 30min Harbour Air seaplane trip from downtown Vancouver to downtown Victoria is a real treat with incredible views!
Pets are more than welcome! An additional $40 CAD cleaning fee per pet will apply, regardless of the length of stay. Please be sure to include all guests and pets in your booking request.

NO SMOKING or VAPING:
There is no smoking or vaping allowed inside the flat, on the balcony or patio, or in the breezeway. This includes any type of device, form or method, as well as, the use of any kinds of drugs -- decriminalized, legal or illegal.
NO PARTIES:
There are no parties or events allowed in the flat or anywhere in the building.
QUIET HOURS:
Please keep in mind our building quiet hours are 10:00pm until 9:00am. If you are having a noise issue with a neighbouring flat during the Quiet Hours, please let your host know.
UNREGISTERED GUESTS:
No unregistered guests in the suite or building at any time (i.e. if your reservation is for one person, we expect just you in the suite and building). If you have friends or family coming to visit you, please ensure you have let the host know and the host is in agreement. If there is anyone who will be staying in the suite with you for at least one of the nights, they must be listed on the reservation as a guest.

CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
Please ensure you are familiar with our moderate refund policy: Full refund 5 days prior to arrival. No exceptions are made under any circumstances.
By making a reservation at Waddington Flats, you are agreeing to follow the policies. Breach of any of our policies will be grounds for cancelling your reservation with no refund for remaining nights.
