There used to be a dog relief area on the 9th floor. It closed in April 2023. You can still take your dog up there but it’s just tile now. There is no grass within a 4 block radius. That’s the only bummer. Both of our dogs figured out how to pee on concrete - but wouldn’t poop until we found grass on the other side of Petco park (5-6 blocks away). Otherwise hotel is very dog friendly and nice to stay at.

Great hotel walking distance to ball park. Neighborhood also has a lot of dogs and dog-friendly restaurants. Room was very nice and we were in need of nothing. I recommend!

my husband and I have been coming to this hotel for about six years and travel with our two golden retrievers. During this last stay we found that the 9th floor area where they had the pet relief area was under construction and they didn’t care about relocating the pet relief to another location at the hotel. There is a park outside of Petco park about one block away but it was closed for an event. We had to walk five blocks to find a spot where our dogs could relieve themselves. This is a beautiful and nice hotel but they are not dog friendly for their guests at this time. We may never return to this hotel if they don’t relocate their dog relief area.

Great dog friendly place near the ball park and the marina. Unfortunately, the gaslight district is overrun with homeless people like so many cities. Makes it not so nice to walk your dog through.

Good hotel with very dog friendly service and accommodations. It's close proximity to Petco Park also allows dog owners to find a couple of parks to let fido stretch their legs and do their business, especially if you have one that prefers greenery to urban and concrete settings.
Also great for close walk to scores of restaurants with outdoor seating to serve those with pets.

Staff at Indigo Hotel San Diego was very friendly and accommodating to our pets need. We took our 1 yr old girls for 3 day trip to see how well they would do in a hotel setting. We were placed on the 9th floor where we found other pet parents who were traveling with their fur babies. Our room was spacious that we were able to fit our Large Crate that didn't get in the way. Easy access to the dog relief area, which my husband like because it was next to the bar so he had a beer after. San Diego is a dog friendly city that it was easy for us to find a place to eat with our girls. Thanks to bringing, we went to the original Dog Beach which I think was the highlight for our girls. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we pulled up the staff was extremely friendly. The Valet greeted our two dogs, and was very quick to help us unload our bags. Check-in was a breeze, and they had complimentary dog treats. The room was the perfect size, very clean, and had a cute touch of dog décor. We only stayed one night, so we weren't able to take advantage of the dog friendly bar on the 9th floor, but we definitely be coming back here the next time we go to San Diego.

Our pup hadn't been on vacation yet, so we picked a hotel that accommodates dogs. They really do have a nice set up on the 9th floor. Treats at the front desk were a nice touch. We walked to Petco Park 🏞️ and she enjoyed that. Nice accommodations. Valets were super nice as was the front desk service. We got our needed rest & our dog went on a nice adventure.

We had a room on the 9th floor which is perfect as the pet relief area is also on the 9th floor “rooftop bar”. Rooms are starting to show a bit of wear in the floors but otherwise the same clean comfortable rooms, fantastic staff and friendly service we have come to enjoy at this location several times now. We will be back again.

We had fun exploring downtown SD. Hotel is centrally located to Petco Park, the marina, and other fun places to see. We had our car so we drove about 10 to 30 minutes to each destination. We visited Balboa Park and Dog Beach. We plan on returning. Hotel is dog friendly all around. We saw at least 6 other folks with their pets too.

I had no idea how much of a dog town San Diego is! Our Aussie, Patches had a great time seeing dogs everywhere and the free treats at the hotel desk was always nice after a walk. Very clean hotel and everyone is very accommodating for your furry family member. Lots of places to take them with you to eat and short drive to dog beach. Loved our trip there!

While we liked the location and the hotel felt clean, we were put on the 9th floor, two doors down from the rooftop bar and elevator. Between 9-1am there were drunk and loud crowds that kept us up most of the night. The room overall was also dated and not in great condition. While we liked that it was very dog-friendly, we won't be staying here again.

As others have mentioned, Spencer at the front desk is friendly and helpful. Unfortunately all the "dog friendly" amenities (free bones and dog beds) dont apply to me as I bring my own supplies for my dog. What I like is a place that feels comfortable to have my dog and their pet relief area on the 9th floor is such a horrible and mortifying concept. A 15 x 15 (estimate) giant litter box with an astroturf pad is right in the middle of the bar/restaurant on the rooftop. 9 pm on saturday night I take my english bolldog out to go potty only to have the elevator door open to a swarm of clubbers all dressed to the 9's who thought I was aweirdo for trailing a dog through the middle of them to enter the main bar area and have him poop in front of mortified eaters and drinkers. Whose ridiculous idea was this? To put the dog pee area (which reeks after sitting in the hot sun) where the hotels' only restaurant and bar is?? I will never return to that humiliation (not to mention how overwhelming for my dog with all the acitivity and people and lights and sounds when he is trying to pee and poop). Many other options in SD that are pet friendly. Good hotel w/o a dog. Wouldnt go back WITH one.

My parents took me out on my first San Diego trip and we stayed at Hotel Indigo. The staff are all so friendly and I was spoiled with lots of milk bones. I had a city view from my room and the windows from floor to ceiling allowed me to observe all the people and cars outside. The hotel also has a 9th floor with a potty. While i was handling my business, my parents enjoyed beers from the bar. The hotel is a short walk from Petco Park where i was able to go off leash and play with so many friends. There are also so many pet friendly restaurants. i like it when my parents eat there because i usually get to taste a little bit of their food. I can’t wait to go back!

We stayed here a couple of nights and this is probably one of the best dog friendly hotels I have stayed at. From the start the staff was great and welcomed me and my 150lbs mastiff. You can take your pup with you anywhere in the hotel. Rooftop bar was great. I would definitely stay here again.

Hotel was nice. My fur baby was welcomed by everyone! I love the hard surface flooring in the rooms. Gives it a clean sleek look. 9th floor bar was a great place to go to unwind.

We loved this hotel! The location is perfect, the staff was so friendly to our 7 month old Frenchie. They loved on her every time she came out. The 9th floor bar was a prefect hang out with our fur baby. The only down fall was no pool. But other than that, it was perfect!! Defiantly going back.
