For the money we paid, this was an adequate stay. However, there are some simple maintenance issues that could be taken care of. Frayed carpet in one of the bedrooms, with stains on the carpet. A bathroom fan that was broken. Tattered leather sofa in the living room. There was a lot of traffic noise outside, too, which nothing can be done about. Overall, a unit in need of some repair. Someone changed our booking, which was for a certain cabin, but when we got there, we were assigned another cabin. It was supposed to be an identical cabin to the one we booked, but we should have been told upfront that the cabin we booked was not available.

Clean, easy check in. Jet whirlpool tub was clean and functional. Dog poop station and grass areas were clean. Couple deer kept making appearances near the big cabin. Cute to watch. Pretty major problem IMO was that the lodge room did not have a deadbolt or curtains. They had blinds but you can see in the cracks/sides. Had to improvise some curtains and put a chair in front of the door at night to feel safe. They also have you take out your own trash before you leave which I thought was weird.

One bedroom cabin was perfect for a one night stay. Grindstone Lake Park has some great hiking trails for dogs!!

cabin was a small efficiency but had everything you need for a great stay not far from town and all the shops up in the upper canyon close to the river lots of tall pines deer everywhere our dogs really in joyed the walks we also in joy the Ruidoso dog park it was clear will taken care of and the people were friendly
