Description
Iwaso is located near Itsukushima Shrine a symbol on the Miyajima Island. The shrine was built over the bay anf the grand Torii gate of the shrine appears floating in the water. Miyajima was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. Iwaso founded in 1854 is an abbreviation of Iwakuni Sobei the founder of the inn. Iwaso has 38 rooms in total. Honkan (Main Building) was built in the 1920's and each room has toilet but no private bathtub & shower. Shinkan (New building) was built in 1981 and each room has toilet and private bathtub. Also there is Hanare (Cottage) which were built between 1924 to 1952. Other facilities are Tea Lounge Banquet hall (Kangen) Conference room (Kaede) Restaurant (Momiji) Vending machine. Free internet access (LAN) is available. *Access Information* 45 minutes by bus from Hiroshima Airport to Hiroshima station. 26 minutes by JR Sanyo line from Hiroshima station to Miyajimaguchi station. 10 minutes by Miyajima ferry from Miyajimaguchi station to Miyajima Island. *Nearby attraction* Itsukushima Shrine Goju-no Tou (Five-story Pagoda) Oo Torii (Grand Torii Gate) Momijidani Park.
