Description
Two Bedrooms with comfortable queen beds, plus a den with fireplace and reclining sofa. The green house room is a great place to work on puzzles or family projects that will not need to be moved for dinner. Beautiful interiors, nice woodland views, and cozy central heat this cottage is fully equipped as a home away from home to come back to time and time again. We are located 3 miles East of the Piney Point/ St. George's Island Bridge off Maryland Route 249 not far from the convergence of the Potomac River and the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay. From our windows you can see the night lights of Virginia three miles across the water.
The Tall Timbers community consists of two rows of houses situated between the Potomac River and a dense timbered forest. Our wooded lot sits back from the water with spectacular sunset views afforded between the houses in front of us. A water access easement runs from our house to the bulkhead and we offer membership at the Tall Timbers Private Beach Club a short walk from the cottage.
Watch the garden surrounding the cottage and animals that live within the forest from the many windows. The area is rich with birds, deer, turtles, and squirrels.
Lovely and comfortable, the modern year-round retreat is equipped with Smart TVs, cable, Netflix, Wi-Fi, docking stations, as well as linens and any other items you might expect in a well equipped home.
Two bedrooms have queen beds; the third is a den with Sofa Futon that makes up into a double bed.
If you must do laundry on vacation do it in a room with a view and own washing machine and dryer.
Fire pit, screened gazebo, charcoal barbecue, picnic tables, and workshop can be made available. Off street parking you ask? There is plenty of room for the boat or RV in the driveway.
A kitchen garden of herbs and veggies is maintained especially for our guests.
Historic St. Mary's City, a short drive, is the first Capitol of Maryland where you will find costumed interpreters.
The settlement at Tall Timbers is a St. Mary's County waterfront community with a history that predates the civil war. There are so many adventures for our guests to chose among and we are glad to help you help discover them.
