First of all, the pet policy is super confusing and I STILL don’t know what the rules are. I called the corporate office after my experience and they said no pets unattended in rooms at all and I spoke to the property manager who said pets have to be contained in a crate. I specifically chose this hotel because I thought dogs were allowed to be unattended in rooms.
When we arrived, there was a sign on every door saying it was under fire watch, and the next day the fire department needed to get into all the rooms for some reason. If they told me beforehand they might need to enter, this all could have been avoided. They called to tell me that when they tried to enter my room, my dogs barked at them and if I didn’t come control my dogs, they were going to call animal control to come get them!
When I called back, they said that the fire department just went into my room to check what they needed to check. Which is better than having them catch-poled by animal control but still made me very uncomfortable for a number of reasons.
