Eagle Cap Chalets welcomes dogs of any size in designated rooms. The pet fee for one dog is $40 per stay in hotel rooms, $60 per stay in 1-bedroom cabins, and $75 per stay in 2-bedroom cabins. Additional dogs are each $20 per stay. Dogs may not be left unattended. Four-legged guests receive treats, a water bowl, and a dog sheet. There is a pet relief area on site. Sorry, cats are not permitted. For same day arrivals, please call 877‑411‑3436 to confirm availability of a pet-friendly room.

Nice family resort.

Check in was easy. The front desk person was helpful throughout the stay, referring us to restaurants and other services. The room was adequate, but another guest in a large pickup kept going back to his truck, which beeped every time it was locked. I think the price for the room was excessive, but there were A LOT of people in town. Dinner at one restaurant was Cuban food. At another the wait, even for takeout was over an hour.

Doggie care package was already in room: dog biscuit, doggie towel, and a sheet to cover the bed in case your muddy-footed dog chooses it to lounge on — very thoughtful! Dog walks: 10-min walk to reach park/lake; 5-min walk to reach Glacier Ridge Grill & General Store which has about 5 dog-friendly outdoor tables for lunch & dinner (dinner was terrific). One mile south is a national forest service trailhead. Several trail options, but we took West trail which climbed thru beautiful woods and along the cascading Wallowa River, but skipped going as far as Wallowa Falls. A great place to stay in a beautiful corner of Oregon.

Small vacation rental with easy access to outdoor activities and small towns nearby. They welcomed us with a puppy gift kit and almost every other guest had a canine companion along as well.
