Amara Resort and Spa welcomes one pet up to 30 lbs for an additional fee of $50 per night, and two pets up to 30 lbs for $75 per night. Both dogs and cats are allowed, but pets may not be left in rooms unattended. Pets receive treats, bowls, and a bed at check-in. There is a grassy area for pet relief near the property. Amara was incredible through and through, we can't wait to go back. The staff absolutely loves dogs and our pup immediately got so much love, attention and treats letting her know she was the star! We upgraded to a creekside room and highly recommend if you can afford it! We were a 2 minute walk to the creek path and lots of fun areas for our pup to sniff and play. While she couldn't go in the pool area, there is an outdoor courtyard with turf, seating and cornhole you can bring your dog.
There is also outdoor seating at the in house restaurant which is very nice, and they bring your dog water and milk bones. When the restaurant wasn't open yet they let us bring her inside to sit at the bar with us until it was time for dinner, and also made sure she had plenty of water and attention! This is also one of the few places where they allow you to leave your dog in your room unattended if they will behave, and give you a "pet in room" door hanger to let housekeeping know so they won't knock and upset them. All in all I did not expect this very nice place to be SO dog friendly, but it was absolutely the best experience. We decided to add an additional night to our stay we were enjoying it so much!

The Amara was the perfect place to stay with our dog Dusty! The staff catered to our needs and especially to Dusty's needs!!!! The creek behind the property was the perfect place for Dusty to cool off during the heat of the day! I would definitely recommend this small, lovely resort for anyone wanting to vacation with their pet. P.S. I think Dusty would have moved in if they let him!!!!!
