This by far is one of the worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. On arrival I was told parking lot next to our building was full and we could only park across the resort. Second, once they found us a room the room was dirty. I found dirty socks from the previous guests behind the "couch".
Third, the AC was NOT working. This was one of the hottest weekends in Southern California. I could have stayed home, saved my money and not suffered. It was incredibly humid, and it felt just as warm inside as it was outside. It was about 99 degrees all weekend. I requested to have maintenance come check our AC ABOUT FIVE DIFFERENT TIMES. No one came. I also want to mention that the front lobby of the hotel and restaurant were functioning just fine. No one offered a fan, or changing of rooms until on the last night I requested a fan.
Fourth, when housekeeping was requested twice no one came. Additionally, when I ordered room service, it never arrived. We were never notified about delays etc. After two hours of waiting I requested that they cancel our order. Every time I called the front desk I waited a minimum of ten to fifteen minutes to speak to ANYONE. This is unfortunate because it appeared as though the staff were friendly. I suggest that maybe if they do not have the staffing , they do not fill a large resort to capacity so that hotel guests can receive the service that they deserve. The goal should be quality, not quantity.
My dogs and I have a blog in which we talk about places that are dog friendly to travel to. This place claims to be dog friendly. There's no potty disposal places or dog relief areas. When I asked the hotel concierge if they had designated areas I was told " you could just find a grassy area wherever." Because of this people did not clean up after their dogs. Definitely not dog friendly, and they charge a pet fee. I would call it "tolerable of pets" at best. Needless to say we will not be mentioning this resort on our list of dog friendly places. When I brought up my issues with the hotel staff I was told "you booked with a third party" so there's nothing we can do.

Easy walk to Fashion Valley Mall (also pet friendly). Staff very welcoming, multiple large, open grassy areas for pet relief, convenient parking and an easy short drive to Old Town. Rooms have Keurig coffee makers and fridge. but no microwave.
