Large room with adequate amenities. Nothing special for dog, but no pet fee. Difficult to find, due to poor signage and entrance on side street. Neighborhood is deathly quiet, even the street the motel is on. Excellent hot breakfast! Santa Barbara lodging. is expensive

The location was very convenient. The sheets were extremely thin and it felt like they chose the cheapest toilet paper available. The carpet was gross and the staircase was dilapidated. They are expanding which means there’s construction going on. The construction didn’t bother us. If they replace the carpet, fix the staircase, and use better quality sheets and toilet paper it would make a massive improvement. When I checked out I gave him this feedback and he was unmoved.

The hotel is undergoing major renovation and expansion, so our room looked through scrim onto a huge hole, surrounded by framing. Which, of course, no one had mentioned. So despite that, the room was fine, and the noise was well under control. Elevator very slow, expect that to be addressed in the renovation. A somewhat lower price would have helped our feelings toward the place. Meanwhile, great location, and of course, pets are welcome. Expect it to be fine, once the project is finished.

Still had a nice time with the pandemic looming. Rooms aren’t the fanciest but we’re clean and comfortable. Was nice even to share my mini stay with my favorite for a friend not a full breakfast but nice to at least get something considering the pandemic. Close to everything. There was construction going on but where my room was I was not bothered by it.

Easy access to the room from state street. Anyone could just walk up to your room and knock. I was surprised there wasn’t a gate to access the stairs. My puppy couldn’t relax from all the busy street noise. We ended up leaving the hotel and driving 4 hours home. Also, the majority of the hotel room color was dark, bad lighting and black walls.

A beautiful room, even tho they are under construction. Quiet, comfortable, a highlight of our trip up the coast. Our two dogs were happy, The only bad spot was the small artificial turf area for the dogs to relieve themselves. Neither dog was comfortable with it

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Dog waste disposal bags were empty for the 3 days I was there and the trash receptacle was never emptied. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at La Quinta!

The pool was not available for use but everything else was perfect. Close to a park for walks and ten min away from a great doggie beach. Staff was friendly and considerate. They are currently not doing housekeeping due to covid.

I loved that this La Quinta is good walking distance from so many places. There are a lot of restaurants on State St., and a nice park/garden only a few blocks away. The hotel is very dog friendly, however, the area for them to potty is very small...I'd suggest just walking around the neighborhood (which felt very safe) or to the park I mentioned for some quick exercise.
Unfortunately, we had to change rooms the first day because the shower handle in our old room broke off in my hand as I was trying to turn it on, the bathroom door handle was also broken when we arrived. The employee at the front desk was able to move us immediately, which was great, and our new room was actually bigger...same size bed, just bigger room...the first room was quite small and cramped, even for just one adult and one dog.
There wasn't any breakfast/food service because we visited during COVID, but as mentioned, the hotel is near many restaurants so it wasn't a big deal. Parking kinda sucks (not enough spaces for as many guests), and they are doing construction next door, but I'd stay here again because the positives outweigh the negatives.

It was fine for the price. Construction was currently going on starting at 8am and there was no free breakfast available due to COVID, which was not mentioned upon booking. The alarm clock was pre-set and went off at 5:30am, so be sure to unplug it if you don’t want to be woken up at that time. The room was clean. There was an extremely small (maybe 4ft by 4ft) designated spot for waste, but some grassy medians across the street. The location was convenient and a short drive to the funk zone.

Building vintage ‘60s or ‘70s, my guess, but very clean and modern inside. No signs of aging. Good central location fairly close to restaurants, bars, and wharf. We were comfortable. Our room was spacious. Dog info: The beds are quite tall. There is an elevator to the lobby plus outside stairs. There is a small bit of turf on the property with baggies, but the streets are great for dog walking. We visited during the COVID period, so staff was at a minimum, but the room and facility were clean and we were cared for.

It was unfortunate that the Inn was undergoing construction the weekend I was there -- but even so, the room was clean and spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed our stay. It served it's purpose and was completely dog friendly, which was lovely. I had a problem with a coffee maker, but the staff promptly replaced it with a new one. It would have been hard if was spending a lot of time in the room on a weekday with the construction noise, but I was out a lot and the only construction was on Saturday morning to early afternoon.

It was awesome to be able to bring my dog here, however, the housekeeping staff never made up our room (we removed our do not disturb sign by 10:30am) and we came home late that evening to an uncleaned room. My dog had gotten sick on the sheets so we really needed a linen change. When I called the front desk, it rang and rang necessitating me going to the lobby in person. There was no one at the desk and the phone was ringing and ringing. Finally an employee came out and apologized profusely. There was only this one employee working that evening and he had to handle any problems as well as the front desk. I was given sheets and towels, but had to make up my room myself. I am fine with that, but not for $175 per night. The employee did discount my bill slightly for our inconvenience which was appreciated. Otherwise, the room was nice and it was an easy property to have a dog stay in.

A mid century motel that’s been tastefully redone. It’s at the north end of state st, which is the quiet end of downtown. Plenty of dog friendly restaurants in walking distance. It’s a little expensive for what it is, but that’s Santa Barbara.

Location was within walking distance of many great places (the mission, several churches, State Street, etc.). The room was comfortable and clean, and they allow you to leave dogs unattended so we were able to enjoy the complimentary breakfast. The employees were very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping never came by during our 3 day stay, though, so we had to ask for more towels and our trash cans were quite full. The pool was also not available during our stay. Dog relief area was a tiny patch of fake grass, but across State Street we were able to find real grass for the dogs. Parking was pricey at $20 per night. Despite the minor negatives, I would still definitely stay here again.

This is a great location on State Street, and is a nice hotel, but there wan't really any special treatment for the dogs, and we felt like we should have been told about the major construction going on when we made our reservation. They're building a new pool area, workout facility, etc., so none of those amenities were available during our stay. We've stayed in several places in SB, and this is upper-mid range price level, so we feel there should have been a discount due to the construction inconveniences. Hope to try the hotel again when the construction is finished, but probably won't if the price goes up significantly.
