    Not that pet friendly

Very disappointed with our stay. 1st off the hotel has a rule that no pet should be left alone in the room, if your pet is left unattended in the room it’s a $300 fine! Now we travel with our pets crate so we can leave our pet to go enjoy a dinner date or walk around the area when the ground is too hot for our pup. But even if our dog was left unattended in our room, in the crate, it would still be a $300 fine. So this meant we couldn’t walk around the lake, enjoy a dinner date or even enjoy the pool and hot tub during our stay! Dog outdoor potty area was dry weeds, full of stickers so we took our dog elsewhere to ensure no stickers or anything else would end up in her pads. This was a 1 bone rating for us. We won’t be back.

Great location & super hot tub

The safe was amazingly friendly & accommodating. I have shared the resort info with family & friends. Will definitely be staying there again next time I am in Tahoe!!

Truly friendly to dog and me

Woke up to 12 degrees and chunks of ice instead of soft snow. Decided we did not want to stay the last two nights of our three night reservation. 3 Peaks agreed to provide us a refund. Very gracious of them. Will definitely stay here when in South Lake Tahoe.

Saved us in a tight spot!

Whew, came upon this place during the largest storm in 50 years! Saved our bacon from freezing out on the highway or a parking lot with my dog in the car. Room was clean and well appointed, beds were a bit insubstantial and a bit cushion on patio furniture feel to em. That said the staff I encountered were friendly and professional. Would definitely stay here again, preferably not in the middle of a snow storm.

    Disappointing Resort

Lousy rooms and no free beach access.

    Disappointing and dirty

3 Peaks is not a resort. The motel clearly states that dogs are not to be left alone in their room yet our neighbor repeatedly left the dog alone and he barked continuously. We found a stranger on our 2nd floor balcony and were not notified by 3 Peaks that our balcony was going to be painted. The beach nearby states ‘no animals’. Location is close to the village and the pool area is nice.

    Needs a few tweaks.

It was adequate. Seemed that rooms weren’t ready for guests. Original room wasn’t ready and ended up in a less desirable room. I wish they had a securely fenced dog potty area. The staff was nice.

    Great location!

We found thus place a couple of years ago. Now it's our go-to place in Tahoe. Very dog friendly.

    3peaksresort good for doggies

While the onsite doggie areas are sparse near nothing, just out back and to the sides are plenty of spaces, and doggie bags. There is some carpet in rooms. Very quiet place, and the area and in general South Lake has plenty of beautiful dog walk areas and actually 6 dog beaches (although all a short drive from the hotel). Yeah, it's $25 per dog/per night. I'd say all accomidations in S. Lake Tahoe are less than you might expect in reality, but no complaints. The bears or ?? hit the garbage cans every night outside.

    Great location and great room

I liked staying here and one of the reasons was Marlyn at the front desk. She went above and beyond to fix some issues. She is definitely a plus for the hotel. To be honest I would have given the hotel 5 bones if it wasn’t for the morning reception gals and hotel maintenance. Nothing got done with the morning crew including something as little as cleaning up trash including alcohol bottles that were strewn in front of my room door by a wild animal. The maintenance guys stood 10 feet from this mess with me having to battle through it with a puppy for over an hour chatting on their phone or to each other doing nothing. Actually saw one guy kick the stuff to the side so he could walk trough the walkway.

    Good option to have

It was nice to have this option to bring out fur babies for the weekend. I didn’t like the thin walls you could hear everyone one outside or next room. I put up the do not disturb sign and the maid still came in? But when the sign wasn’t up she didn’t come in to clean? Weird.

Great Location, Walkable And Dog Friendly

The hotel is a bit older but very cozy and comfortable. There is a small green belt around 3 sides of the property where you can relive your dog!
We were a bit disappointed because we have a young dog that needs lots of outside opportunities and they put us upstairs (stairs only) in the center of the complex. It couldn’t have been more difficult to get her to a relief area, and I did ask for a doggy friendly option.
But other than that, the room was great, hot tub was AMAZING (dog can’t be left in room unattended so she had to wait in car).

    Who cares

WE planned on cleaning everything when we got there...But i personally loved cleaning the PUBIC HAIR out of the tub.. that was a nice touch. Plus check in at 3pm ..room not ready. We will call you when ready. Plus i was told $25 a nite for my dog. Got charged $25 because my dog is a dog... and $25 a nite for my Dog... Our pup treated like royalty..right they did care we were there.. location 5 stars... thats it.. i could write a book.. So good luck...

    Poor Customer Service

I stayed at this property for 10 years annually for work. I loved it there so much. Until this year... I left two clothing items on accident. One of the two items I had only worn once. When I realized it, I called and found out they had "located the items" so I emailed them a shipping label. That was two weeks ago today. They won't answer my calls or emails now due to trying to follow up with them (probably 10 times). No clothes, no answers, just literally could not care less about my situation. I am back to the drawing board on where I will stay. Stay there if you want, just don't dare forget anything!!!!! I hate that I needed to leave this review.

Good place to stay with digs

The staff was excellent, and the grams were good for taking dogs on walks. It was nice that they provided poop bags and various stations. The rooms themselves need to be refurbished. We think it was last refurbished 15 years ago and it's definitely overdue.

Great place to stay - Great Staff!

Great place to stay - Great Staff- Hugh outside two-level hot tubs with waterfalls between them. Short walk to Tahoe beach, Lime scooters are even easier to get there. Nice rooms. The resort is geared for your pup. Fun Place!

    Good, Not Great

This hotel was a decent hotel at a good price that allows big dogs without an issue. The guest room was in good condition, but not fancy. There were spots where the rug was unraveling, water damage to a wall in the bathroom, chipped paint on the frame of the mirror. Again, it met our needs, but not what I would consider 4 to 5 bones.

Location is great for access to the Main Street of South Lake Tahoe.

Grounds were maintained well. Lots of space to walk the dog.

    Great Location

My fiancé and I recently stayed here with our German Shepherd puppy. We had the most amazing experience! The hotel is extremely pet friendly with designated grass zones for dogs. Our room had a fireplace, lovely kitchen, and plenty of space for the three of us. We walked a short 5 minutes down to the lake at sunset.
We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend for dogs of all sizes.

Ok, but know before you go...

Hotel is nice, but there are a few things to know before you go.

If you stay in the deluxe king room the room smells like a fireplace because each of these rooms has a wood burning fireplace. A lot of people like this and during the winter I may agree, but during the summer that's all you smell when you walk in the room and you more than likely aren't going to be using it.

Also, the hotel has a pool and access to a private beach. However, dogs are not allowed in the pool area or at the private beach and there is a $100 charge if you leave your dog unattended in the room. All of this would have been nice to know before we opted for this hotel.

Pros, the hotel is centrally located to Heavenly village and the state lines. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms seem newly renovated and are nice, they also have a mini fridge which I didnt see that mentioned in the amenities.

    Wonderful little hotel

Was excited to have this hotel for my first trip out to this area. They were great for both humans and dogs and both of my dogs (a one year old and a new pup!) had no issues staying here. Its near so many shops and restaurants and the lake (although I will admit, we did not plan on it being snowy still, since it had since melted at home just a couple states to the northeast), but for the price, it definitely cannot be beat. And spending 25 a night on each pet versus the 40 I almost spent at a different hotel, how can I say no? The room itself was amazing. Clean, large, and warm with a nice porch space - one of the best hotels we have stayed at!

    Best Value Around

Found this gem thru BringFido app and was so impressed. Large clean room, nicely appointed. Location is great for walking to groceries, Heavenly Village shopping, gondolas and beaches. Ample off street parking. No qualms about checking in with my 95lb Alaskan Malamute and will happily recommend it to all our friends and family who travel with their fur family.
