We stayed at Tea Garden Lodge on a ski trip with our dog. The hotel is walking distance to the gondola. The owner is very very nice and made us feel very welcome. We could leave our dog unattended in the room. The room itself was a bit worn and hasn't been updated it awhile. There was tape on the flood keeping it together. But it was very clean and warm and cozy. It definitely served our purposes for a ski trip. I'd stay again.

Jimmy the desk clerk was absolutely wonderful. He was there for most of my stay and was relieved by a guy who looked like trouble. The room was adequate and I appreciated that the heater was quiet. I also appreciate the attempts they’ve made at updating the room. It was quiet for the first night of my stay, but the second night brought the predictable Friday night party crowd so it was loud. The downsides also included haphazard parking, smoking, drug use, etc.

We booked a last minute room at the Tea Garden Lodge when we got snowed in to Tahoe. The booking and check in/check out process was very easy, and the person who greeted me when we arrived was very friendly and helpful. The pet friendly rooms are all on the first floor, which makes it convenient. However, the walls are incredibly thin so noise was transferred very easily from outside and from other rooms (we could hear full on conversations from the folks in the room next to us and they kept us awake late into the night), which was hard on our anxious pup who gets protective in unfamiliar surroundings. Our room did not come with a mini fridge, but I've seen from other reviews that other rooms do so maybe ours was just an anomaly--it did have a microwave and a coffee maker. The TV in our room wasn't working during our stay but we were honestly so exhausted that we didn't bring it to their attention. This place worked for us in a pinch but I'm not sure we'd stay again given our individual situation. If your dog isn't bothered by outside noise or other people in those kinds of circumstances you might be okay.
