Our room in this "non-smoking" hotel smelled like old cigarette smoke. Noise in the hallway resonates because of the hard surface flooring. Cleanliness was a real issue.

Please be aware that is no free staying for your pets. I was there on a Sunday evening & I was asked to pay a $15 charge for each dog & every night. I went someplace else. Besides it was no refrigerator or microwave available in the room too. I hope it helps.

STAY AWAY! This place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in my life. Our building looked condemned! there was trash left in the hallway night and day. No housekeeping. for 2 days! room cards changed 5x (They stop working after a couple hours). this place is not good for Fido or humans!!!

If you just need a place to stay that’s let friendly, then this will be good for you. I was not aware whenever I booked my room though that they didn’t include a refrigerator or a microwave. I checked in, got to my room and then realized. I asked them about it, and they offered to upgrade me to a “deluxe” room which was $10 more per night. We ended up doing it because we mostly wanted the fridge. The people were nice I just wish the booking was more clear beforehand. Otherwise the stay was decent.

Staff were friendly...but room 105 where I stayed had bed bugs...many bites to me and my grand daughter...stayed Sat night 8/7 and it is now 8/13...and I am still dealing with the itching.

Very small breakfast room for all guests. Worn out hallway carpet, room ok very basic for suite. Other building had tile in hallway so revisions are being done. Staff very friendly.

We specifically chose La Quinta at this location because of the great rating with BringFido.
The Pros: No issues with having a dog and that there was no fee for her. Also, the linens on the bed were very clean and the bed comfortable. The room seemed fairly clean overall.
The Cons: The card key set did not work to start with. Once those were replaced and we entered our room, it reeked of cigarette smoke. We were given a new room, and upon entry, I immediately noticed the carpet stains. Also, the sliding glass doors open to patio were sealed closed. (The sliding glass doors in the first room were also sealed.) There was no hand soap provided. Throughout the night, there was lots of patron vehicle noise coming and going. Unexpected airport noise was unexpected. We had no idea we were that close to the airport, so it was quite unnerving as it was very loud. It did not go on all night-maybe 30 minutes. But started again in the early morning for about 20 minutes. And the "free breakfast" consisted of some bagels and a selection of apples, bananas....from what I observed.
As stated above, our safety was the biggest concern: Sliding glass doors sealed shut. (Best Western across the street wasn't that way, but not sure they allowed dogs) Also, the airport noise AND the patron (??) vehicular noise coming and going late into the evening was cause for our own vehicle's safety.

Website says only small dogs allowed but we called and they said large dogs were fine. We saw lots of large dogs and even a lady walking her 80lb pig :) . Not the fanciest but for the price, no additional pet fee, pretty good location you can’t beat it.

The rooms at this location need serious upgrading. No pets allowed on outside areas of property. Volusia County is not pet friendly. No pets are allowed in beaches. Would not recommend this location even though it is located on ocean.
