Reviews
- KathyDec 31, 2019OK hotel
Mountain Creek Inn is expensive but doesn't have the amenities to justify it other than its location. There was no fridge or microwave in the room, just a small coffee maker. The beds were OK, but La Quinta's are much more comfortable and it's cheaper. Breakfast is expensive. The food in the onsite restaurants was mediocre at best. The check-in desk was staffed by people who weren't very friendly, although they weren't rude, just perfunctory. At checkout the attendant was much more friendly. The activities were good - we took our son-in-law and 3 grandkids as well as our dog and they had a great time. The dog was allowed all over the gardens. She got to follow along with them while they did the zip line adventures and played on the playground. However, the Inn itself did absolutely nothing for the dogs.
- RDec 16, 2019Pretty much a dump
Not what we expected as Callaway is supposed to be pretty nice. The room was dated and filthy. There were only 2 accessible outlets and they both had a bunch of things plugged into surge protectors, then plugged into a wall that was missing drywall (I was surprised it wasn’t deemed a fire hazard). There was not a refrigerator (however they were accommodating in bringing one up...I forgot to check my bill to see if it was free or we were charged). The room was legitimately filthy - there was 1/2” of dust on everything, The last day we were there, we received fresh towels; however they didn’t make our bed or empty the garbage cans.
That said, the thing that annoyed me was the lack of breakfast options - there was NOTHING you could take and go back to your room. Being in the middle of nowhere, there wasn’t any place you could grab quick take out. The ONLY option was a $20 sit down buffet (the food was not even as good as a Holiday Inn Express or Hampton Inn). My husband and I could even eat together because someone had to stay in the room with the dog. Two thumbs down - stay in Columbus and drive to Callaway.
