  The Worst Western

  "Worst" Western is what my 11 year old dubbed it as we were checking out. I should have known from the moment I walked into the lobby and was greeted by both a sad and half dead plant and an employee that was less than enthusiastic. She asked me to sign a paper stating we wouldn't smoke in the room. I said it's non smoking... we don't smoke. She said ok just sign it. It's ok I told myself, anyone would be sad to work Easter. But little did I know her demeanor was probably from her soul being crushed by the crackheads that inhabit this establishment. We reserved a pet friendly non smoking room. We were directed to the rear of the building to enter our wing. As we were unloading the car it appeared to be a scene from the walking dead as the inhabitants seem to use this area for both a smoking and drug dealing entrance. As soon as we walked in, the smell of skunky reefer and stale cigarettes hits you in the face. We walked down the hall and let ourselves in to our room. Shabby, small, with stained walls. We realized right away the roll away we ordered was not in the room. No problem. The kids wanted to go to the pool, I would mention the cot then. The kids got in their swim gear, and we started walking towards the direction of front of the hotel, where I noticed the pool was located upon check in. We walked, walked and walked only to hit dead ends, empty meeting rooms and employee only stairwells. The signs to the pool were pointing in incorrect directions. We finally made it. I stopped to inquire about my cot before the pool, and asked, by chance, if our wing was nonsmoking as I requested because it was really
  Smoky. "Oh. No. The room right next to you is smoking. The pet rooms and smoking rooms are mixed together." I said oh I really feel like someone was smoking in our room before we arrived. She said yes maybe they do rent the non smoking rooms out when someone requests a smoking room and they're "sold out and have a smoking emergency" I tried not to laugh out loud.
  This place would never be sold out, and what is a smoking emergency? She gave me a spray can of Incense to spray and wished me luck. I was gonna need it. The only reason this place got one star is because the of the pool. It really was nice and my kids loved it. Wasn't the cleanest but it was totally passable. The hotel seems to have actual transient people living in it, I realized as the stay went on. I am pretty sure I witnessed at least two drug deals in route to my car. The whole place stunk so bad it gave me a migraine and I felt unsafe and paranoid the whole time. None of the main doors lock. Anyone can come and go. And they did, believe me. I've never been so excited to check out of a hotel. Everything and everyone we brought with us got thoroughly washed in hot water as soon as we got home. If you like the smell of smoke and being surrounded by crack heads this place is for you. If not, go elsewhere!

  Would not stay again

  We booked a non-smoking room with pets. There is no way it was a non-smoking room and it smelled horrible. The hallways smelled as if people were smoking in the hallways and the smell wafted into the room every time the door was opened. Just awefull. Seemed like the pet owners and smokers we all assigned to the same section of the hotel.
