You get what you pay for

Pros: The rooms were clean...mostly. Hot water and close to everything in Asheville. Plus NO pet fee. Cons: The grounds were disgusting. There were cigarette butts and dog poop everywhere. I stepped in dog poop twice just walking to and from my car. There is trash everywhere and the garbage cans are overflowing. There were multiple homeless camps near by so I didn't feel very safe walking my dog anywhere. I even saw several needles within 20 feet of my motel door. Yikes!

    Very Dog Friendly!

Could have been a little cleaner, but very friendly and kind staff and great for pets.

    Basic hotel

As budget hotels go, it has everything you would expect. The bonus is there is a nice grassy area and if you walk up the road behind the hotel you are in a quiet residential area that’s good for dog walking.

    Convenient Location for Us

Check-in was smooth. We were a little early, but the lady let us wait for a downstairs room. Clean and comfy.

One of the few dog-friendly hotels in the area

Room was adequate for a quick 2 night stay. It was clean enough but smelled like dogs. There was some grassy area for potty use. Probably wouldn’t stay there again if I had another choice.

    House of Horrors

Yes they accept pets. But on check in yesterday I was told my room would be next door to that of night clerk who needed her sleep "and if THAT dog makes any noise ... well she won't tolerate that." Well ... put me in different part of hotel. He's not noisy but dogs will bark from time to time. All day yesterday he barked two times ... once at maintenance man. My dog is protective of me around strange man. Then when night clerk noisily left her room he barked at door ONCE. So she. ... the clerk ... got even. At midnight her alarm clock went off and woke me from sound sleep. I called front desk and asked her to turn it off. She called back 10 mins later and said she checked and nothing was on. I invited her to come into my room and hear the noise. She refused. It stopped at 1 a.m. Then precisely at 2 am the phone in that room rang til 6 a.m.

I turned TV on to muffle sound. Made ear plugs from toilet tissue. Put a pillow on each side if my head. Didn't really sleep. She noisily came back to that room around 6:30 am. My dog made not one sound during the entire night. But of course I got maybe 15 mins of sleep. I paid for 2 nights and they likely will say they can't refund any of it. My room was 334 . . . If you stay at this house of horror don't let them put you in that or in 338. The "clerk" currently rules 334 and all around it. If not for that bed was comfy, nice size TV, nice bathtub, fridge, microwave. But I will NEVER stay here again and will be moving to different hotel, paying for another hotel.

    Awful

They do not clean the pet area. Both my girlfriend's and I shoes were covered in dog poop because the area isn’t lit. They do not clean up the dog poop or even empty the trash can it was disgusting. Everyone should be cleaning up after their pet but you would assume the hotel would at least clean it a little bit. I absolutely recommend going anywhere else.

    Comfortable stay

We stayed a week with our service dog Baily. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Would stay again with our girl.

    Not clean but friendly staff

We arrived in the night and had to change the room, because of its nastiness. It looked like the bed sheets had not be changed or cleaned between guests. We liked the wooden floor, but it was dirty. I cleaned it with a damp towel. We asked to have a room cleaned twice, but it was not, so we asked to change a room. The staff at the front desk was nice and friendly. She indicated that during COVID, house keepers did not enter the rooms. We booked 4 nights and the room was cleaned only once.

    Currently Housing Homeless

Good for them for being proactive in helping their community but...customers should be made aware upfront that 60 rooms are currently rented by the city to house the city's homeless.

Close to Everything- Especially The Highway

Nice room! Ours was clean, everything in room was in great shape and easy to use. Loved that it was pet friendly! Only con: there were a lot of people going by outside our room- and even after 11pm were still being fairly loud...but it did eventually quiet down a couple hours later. Bed was comfy- we would stay here again.

    Good for dogs, but....

This is the 3rd time that my wife and I have stayed at this particular Red Roof Inn in Asheville. They have always been dog friendly and a perfect location since we enjoy hiking with our dogs in Pisgah National Forest only minutes away. However, this experience was different. My wife and I noticed that this RRI has turned significantly more “ghetto” than our past experiences. There were some shady characters (definitely on drugs) that were walking around and loitering all hours of the night for each of the two nights we were there. If you stay here, ensure all valuables are out of the car and both door locks are in place. Please, be very aware of your surroundings if choosing this RRI location.

    Good price no pet fee

Room was clean and bug free. I like the fact that it had bare floors instead of carpet which was only under the bed so you would have something soft to put your feet on. safe, microwave and fridge where a nice asset to the room. It also had a nice hot powerful shower and clean bathtub. The bed was even comfortable and considering the room was on the side of the highway you could not hear anyting even if people are next to you. It also has 24-hour security on each end of the 3rd floor It's a No-Frills Hotel but I would definitely go back there again. The downside people don't clean the poop up after their dogs the elevator was filthy dogs pissed on the stainless steel inside it and it was never cleaned off the walls and the floors in the elevator we're never swept and the common areas outside needed lots of cleaning up which unfortunately downgraded the outside of the hotel which made it look rather trashy and unkept. There are places that you can walk to if you wanted to get something to eat

    Dog friendly and inexpensive

All rooms are dog friendly and have refrigerators (for canned food!) and a microwave. We recommend asking for a room at the back of the hotel. The front has a lot of road noise. The hotel was comfortable and there was a good space to walk the dogs.

    Great stay

I was hesitant to stay here bc it seemed so cheap. It is a no frills motels. It seems like a lot of construction workers use this motel. My 2 dogs and I had a great stay here. It is close to a dog park as well. The A/C unit made a lot of noise but that was ok bc it drowned out my dog barking. I just wish other owners picked up after their dogs. There was tons of dog poop in the patio area. There was a Cracker Barrel, gas station, and Burger King close by as well.

    You Cannot Beat the Value!

The rooms were clean—love that they are updated with laminate flooring. We had plenty of room for my 2 labs and me. For the price and no extra pet fee, you absolutely cannot go wrong. There is a small area to walk your dogs (so they can do their business) and they have poop bags available. Also, I can tell that people who travel with their dogs are responsible. Everyone cleans up their dogs’ poop and I did not hear any excessive barking during our 4 night stay!

    PROS & CONS

    Pros:
    Room Very Clean
Staff so very nice and accommodating.
    Inexpensive rate
    Small refrigerator & microwave

    Cons
Air conditioning unit (loud, but didn't bother me.)
Musty smell due to Air Conditioning unit. (I brought an air purifier which worked well, but still had asthma attacks)

No elevator. If you need a first floor room, put that in your preference.

    Economical

We stayed here on our way to Florida and had no problems at all. The hardwood floors and such were perfect for having a pet and the staff were friendly. The dog walk area was a little small but it was equipped with supplies and worked out fine for our dog. Would have no problem staying here again.
