This was outstanding! The only issue was our rooms AC wouldn’t cool so we had to swap rooms. Staff did everything possible to make this easy. Would recommend 100 out of 100 times!

Rooms were very big and the hotel has very large lawns and near quiet roads for dog walks. I wish the hotel offered a goody bag upon check-in or dog blankets for the room.

Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The valet staff drove us and our dogs anywhere we wanted to go and picked us up when we were ready. The grounds were beautiful.

We stayed at the Elmonte Sagrado Resort in Taos in August of 2021 and really enjoyed it. The first-floor rooms all have back doors that open up to extensive manicured yard areas, with additional open space at the rear of the hotel. The rooms were good sized; big enough for the two of us plus two good-sized dogs. The restaurant/bar had good food and drink options. We hung out on the patio outside the restaurant, and the staff brought a water bowl for the dogs before we thought to ask. Speaking of the staff, they were all really great. Without exception, they were all friendly and helpful. Overall, a great stay.

This place was great! Would definitely stay again. Unfortunately they didn’t have the doggie goodie bags for the pups! But the area was great for the dogs to run around and get some energy out! About a 12 minute walk to town. The restaurant had good food, unfortunately didn’t have the greatest server.

We had an amazing time in this beautiful resort. The staff was beyond helpful with anything we needed. The facility, grounds, and our room were all beautifully done and clean. They were so wonderful with our two large dogs (a Golden and a lab mix) who absolutely loved playing fetch on the grounds. Room service was perfect and the food was amazing. We will definitely stay there on our next return to Taos!
They do have a 65 pound limit but they have some grace with it. Lots of other dogs there both big and small. They have a pet contract and a room fee for each pet but I found both to be totally reasonable. - KaraMay 9, 2021Lovely

When I made the reservation, staff asked to know the NAMES of my dogs, very personalized service towards us and our 2 German Shepherds. We got a great deal. Our Native American room was huge and steps from a big green area to throw tennis balls. Poop bag dispensers and trash cans discreetly placed. All around best dog friendly place I have found EVER. Rooms have stained concrete floors, so you don't have to worry about wet paws. Getting coffee at the front desk, dogs are pet and offered treats. Vallet staff & shuttle drivers are very helpful. We had room #1 right next to their staff room & front desk. The 1st morning we took the dogs out, they mentioned that they were trying to be quiet to not disturb the dogs. :) Super considerate and friendly everyone! And food at the bar as well as restaurant is fantastic!

When we arrived no one could find our reservation... because I had accidentally made it for the day before. The welcome staff worked to get us into a room... did not charge us extra, and welcomed us with grace. The resort is perfectly dog friendly with tons of areas to walk. The doggie back/ball were the icing on the cake.

We just returned from 3 wonderful nights in a Mountain House room with a sliding glass door opening out onto a large lawn. This resort has several kinds of accommodations, including apartment/cabins, and when I called I was told my dogs were welcome in any class of accommodation. The Mountain House is the least expensive room but I chose it for being close to the parking., and for the lawn. The entire hotel staff was wonderful to all of us, especially an old Golden Retriever and a 75 pound Lab mix still full of jumpy puppy energy. The reception area even has a large water bowl. Pet fee was $50 per day which I thought reasonable. In fact, I would say that the staff has excellent training in addition to just being a lovely bunch of people. The room was luxurious and I did not feel I was placed in the second-rate "dog room" as some nicer hotels will do. Hotel is walking distance to the plaza, and to a great coffee shop just down the street. The dog park in Taos is closed indefinitely so I took my dogs on easy hiking trails for off-leash play. Did not eat in the restaurant, but my one room service meal was nothing special (except the green chili sauce which really was better than average). Abundant free coffee and tea, gas fireplace in my room with a big fire out in the yard at night. So glad we stayed here and will be back soon!

Safe Stay: El Monte Sagrado Living Resort & Spa has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay.
