Americas Best Value Inn Lubbock East welcomes two pets up to 65 lbs for an additional fee of $10 per pet, per night, plus a $100 refundable deposit. Charged a $50 deposit upon arrival for room damage. No problem. When we checked out the next morning, I specifically went to the front desk to get my deposit back. The woman at the front desk who was busily keeping the breakfast going told me everything should be fine and my deposit would be refunded.
However, two weeks later when I had to call because my deposit had not been refunded. I was told by the woman who answered the phone that they were keeping the deposit because of dog poop on the carpet. This was absolutely untrue. And absolutely against what the woman had said on the morning of our departure.
BUYER BEWARE. I did not insist on a receipt saying my deposit would be returned that morning. And now I'm hundreds of miles away from the property.

For a place to sleep in Lubbock, it's fine. It's clean. Breakfast is good. The front staff is nice and helpful. It is run down. As long as you're ok with no frills, good place to sleep, it's fine. If you're looking for a Hampton Inn type of experience, you'll be disappointed. We were fine with it! I'd stay again.

The price was the main reason we selected this Inn, but its price was not so much lower than the competitors. Even with the lower price, this place is not a good choice for anyone with kids.

It's old, not the best paint job in the room, and not a good location. However, room was clean, staff was nice, and had a lot of real grass for the dogs. Even had a metal bench around a tree to sit on. I recommended to the clerk at checkout there should be a trash receptacle out by dog area.

The only reason they aren't getting a five - the hotel doesn't match the pictures! Clean, comfortable and friendly.
