Staff was very friendly, great complimentary breakfast, valet was very professional and convenient. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. No pet relief area. We walked across the street to Alamo for that.

We chose Hotel Gibbs because they were willing to allow our 3 little dogs to come even though their policy says 2 dogs. (We did ask for permission first.) This was a first time for our dogs to be in a hotel so we weren't sure how they would behave. We ended up using their laundry service because one of our dogs sometimes just randomly goes. Luckily it happened on his own blanket. Although it was pricey (~$50) to have it washed, I was happy that service was available. The breakfast tacos were great (go early though because it gets a little stale) and you can bring the dogs in to the restaurant area. This is such a great (and RARE) feature that doesn't require swapping to go eat. They also provided us hot water to be able to warm up our dogs' food. We had the junior king suite and having the extra room was so worth it.

The hotel is very old, but in excellent condition. We had a suite, which was actually two rooms with a door separating them. It is a short walk to the River Walk. They have a very nice buffet breakfast. The staff were all very nice.

When I first made my reservations, I thought it was so cute that they would have bowls, treats and a toy for the dogs. But when I called to confirm they have bowls, they said they didn’t and maybe could find something. There was no pet welcome kit

If you’re looking for a fun downtown experience with your pooch this is the spot. Ungraded hotel. Comfy beds/safe space, WiFi, and great customer service.
Downside: The hotel bar was closed due to COVID-19. Hotel is minutes away from Rivercenter mall and Riverwalk where you can shop/dine-in/dog parks/bars. All surrounding areas pet friendly.

Attention to detail of the original construction was truly inspired - especially the faux elevators. Everyone (staff & guests) very dog friendly. Found a great COVID-safe, dog-friendly place to eat at a pub about half a block away.

Very impressive, service was incredible by the front desk & valet, very pet friendly, Travis Park just 2 blocks from the Hotel. I highly recommend Hotel Gibbs to anyone visiting San Antonio, especially with a pet, great location very close to the Riverwalk.
