This is a very dog friendly hotel that goes out of its way to accommodate guests and their companions. Plus, it's located in an area that offers miles of good sidewalks, trails and places for a dog to sniff and explore.

This hotel has a unique location on the river, and it was fun to watch the ducks. The staff were very helpful. The rooms are small and stuffed with furniture that looks like it belongs to the Salvation Army. Our mattress was lumpy and saggy. We stayed here because we had our dog with us and we like to support independent businesses.

Room was small and a bit dated. Staff was friendly and even allowed us to leave our bicycles in their office room with supervised access. The only surprise was with the complimentary breakfast which was quite slow as staff was controlling the amount of food you received. They did cook your eggs to your liking. Restaurant on site (Crow’s Nest) was quite good with nice views of the river. Overall was pleasant stay.

Cover Island Inn isn't fancy but so what? So easy to stay with a dog (or 2 pit bulls as the case might be). Easy check-in, good price, dog rooms on the first floor, close to an exit to a dog-potty area with a poop bag dispenser. Room spacious enough for dog beds, microwave for heating their home-made food. Plus close to good places to walk with your dogs: the River Trail or Columbia Park are just a stone's throw away. For the peeps, beds are comfortable, curtain close and are dark enough to block ambient outdoor light. I'd definitely stay again with the pooches. Friendly staff too.

Great staff, perfect location, awesome service. We stayed just one night as a stop over and now are planning a dedicated weekend to stay there again. Oh, and the food at the Crows Nest was outstanding. The one and only waitress was hopping but able to keep up.

It’s old. It’s dated, but it’s very clean and dog friendly. Situated on a small man made island, it’s perfect for walking, both on the island and on the riverfront trail. There is even a dog friendly restaurant just across the road. Absolutely perfect place to stop with Fido, while traveling.

Clover Island Inn is on a spotless little island and overlooks the Columbia River. The hotel is somewhat dated - and windows looking out toward the river (at least on the first floor) weren't big enough to do justice to the incredible view. Staff are friendly. There is a doggy relief area, but not all pet owners cleaned up after themselves as directed. Everything in the room was clean, but dated. Staff are nice and the complimentary breakfast was good. Coffee at the breakfast buffet was pretty good. Free wi-fi, but it's open. Lots of people with dogs of all sizes, which was fun. Sound-proofing not fabulous, but the bed and pillows were super comfortable. We slept well, as did our dog. We'll probably come back for all the good things about this sweet little hotel.

The room is in dire need of a major overhaul, it is old; paint, floors, furniture it all needs to be redone. The back exit to take dogs out, the area stinks, needs major cleaning. The positive, pleasant staff, nice restaurant and the breakfast in the morning is extremely good.

Nice location and convenient restaurant at the inn as well as others within walking distance. Property is showing some wear, but beds were comfy, shower hot, and room clean. Treats upon arrival and a small grassy area for the dog. Good value; we would stay here again.
Our third stay here last night. (1/25/21) and we overheard that the facility might be turned into apartments pending a vote in February. That explains why they’re not updating. A shame, with some sprucing up I might give it another bone.

We were traveling with 4 dogs and they accommodated our requests. 2 rooms for 2 people (2 pets per room) and our rooms were next to each other with a door between so we could easily let the dogs room between rooms. Also put us on the 1st floor, which was a big deal because a different hotel put us on the 2nd floor. We were also at the end of the hallway making it easier to take the dogs out. They even had treat bags for the dogs.

Tiny potty area behind hotel. However the walk along the Columbia River was 50 ft away and a 10 minute drive took us to Columbia Park, which wasn’t crowded and the opportunity for a dog with an e-collar was perfect for running free. Staff was great.

Safe Stay: Clover Island Inn has enhanced cleaning and safety measures in place. Masks and hand sanitizer are provided to guests, and rooms are disinfected between each stay.
