  Bee Nightmare

  We typically love the apple barn and this time around we wanted to bring our dog and sit on the patio. It was me and my husband, our three month old baby and our dog. The entire time we were being swarmed by bees no matter what we did. The waitress said they kill them all the time which is crazy to me that there has been no solution to this. We ended up getting a to go box and eating in our car because of how bad it got. Definitely would not go back if we had to sit outside because that is absolutely ridiculous. We also received no accommodations for our terrible experience. We just wanted to enjoy a breakfast with our family and that ended up being ruined. The last thing I wanted was our baby or dog to be stung and ruin our trip.

  Horrible food

  Our first time going. We heard great things about the restaurant but the food was horrible. It was cold, and the meat was so tough we couldn’t eat it. We order four entrees (chicken fried chicken, two steaks, and chicken in dumplings) and did not like any of the four. The service was fine but I think the food was old, bland and low quality. I honestly don’t remember anyone saying the liked one single item. We took 3/4 of it with us but ended up throwing it away. Breakfast might be better but we won’t be returning for dinner.

  Fido friendly on patio. Waitress was very sweet gave great service. Food was down home, so heavy. consider that in the heat. Think we tasted everything. All good. Recommend.

  they are great. they have public water bowls for pets but for those like us that don’t like to share bowls with unknown dogs they got us a to go bowl for water since we forgot our girls bowls. they grilled a chicken breast just for her and checked in on her brought a towel to wipe her down with cool water. ask for shanna if there at lunch time. she was great with our pug.

  Best Food Ever! Very dog friendly!

  We were the only ones on the patio, but our server acted like it was absolutely no problem to run in & out. They provided water for our dogs & we even had a little birthday party with their hats on. We had dinner & the food and the quantity was unbelievable! Highly recommend!

  Awesome breakfast!

  We enjoyed an awesome breakfast with a wonderful server, and had the whole patio section to ourselves. Love the juice and breads that are brought out when you first arrive. We will visit again, weather permitting!

  Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant

  We had an amazing time! Our pup Charlie was welcome on the patio for lunch and he was also invited into the Ale House and The Winery. He received several treats from various employees and tons of pets from staff and guests. He enjoyed live music with us outside and they had several fresh bowls of water all around for pets to get a quick drink. There is a large creek across the street that’s fun for pets and kids!

  The patio is an afterthought

  when a normal wait was 20 minutes we were told 35. we watch people come in wait and get seated while we sat and watched the time go by. on our second trip in to make sure we were still on the list they realized that we were there for 45 minutes and told us to go out and grab a table. 20 minutes later we saw a server and ordered. it looks like a cool set up but I wouldn’t invest the time again.

  Dog-gone great place.

  Super dog friendly. Amazing fried chicken!!! Adorable, quaint village with an Ice Cream Shop, Candy Shop, Christmas Shop, Winery, Apple Shop with jams and cider. Fun stop. Definitely bring Fido!!!

  Wonderful Dinner with Kids

  Applewood Farmhouse made us feel comfortable and special with the fur kids on the patio with fresh water. Dinner was fantastic and the kids loved the attention.

  The Applewood Farmhouse is posted on Bring Fido as pet-friendly. I called ahead to confirm. When I arrived the hostess said they are short-staffed. Hour wait. If it rains, we're out of luck! She discouraged us from staying. There was plenty of seating outside NOT being used. I ordered dinner to go and sat outside in the unused seats (with permission)! Crazy! Bad service, especially when I called ahead to confirm that there was outdoor seating available for pets!

  Pretty Terribly disappointed

  We were excited to try this restaurant as we were told this was the most friendly location to bring your pup. We were told we would have to wait over an hour till they could find staff to serve there outside area. Sad since it was a beautiful 80 degree day

  Excellent Service

  Amazing food and good portions! Nice and peaceful outdoor seating. The wait staff was very friendly and made sure we had water for our dogs. We were even able to order a peice of grilled chicken for the dogs which was very nice since we had been out exploring all afternoon.

  Great food

  Visited this restaurant Oct 20, 2021. The patio was not open this time of years due to a problem with bees. There were people stung last week and they don’t want anyone sitting out there. This place is located on an app live orchard so bees are important to business so they can not kill the bees. I was able to order food to go. There is plenty of shady areas you could have a picnic at, being a blanket. We are in our car due to having Buddy with us. The food was wonderful. We had the chicken salad with fruit. It came with soup and apple fritters. All of it was delicious. It was busy even on a week day. There’s several other stores to go into there but we were in a hurry.

  Very Dog Friendly!!

  We just got back from a trip to the Pigeon Forge area. I grew up going there and we would always stop by the Applebarn. I was so excited to find out that it was dog friendly. The patio at Applewood is very nice and the waitress was so sweet to my dog, Charlie. They even brought a bowl of water out to her and left a pitcher of water to refill it!

  Great Patio!!

  Maplewood has always been one of our favorite places so we were thrilled to find their pet friendly patio while traveling with our fur babe. The servers were excellent and of course so was the food!!

  We had a great time!! Make sure you are at the correct restaurant! It is the one near the barn with the red umbrellas. There was no one working the patio, and they opened it immediately. Food was amazing!!!!!

  Great food and lots of it! Make sure you go to the restaurant not the grill. Only the restaurant has an outdoor patio (last building on the right). Pet friendly on the patio!

  Great experience and great food!

  We came here for lunch and was not disappointed. They had a big patio area to sit at and offered to bring us water for our pups (we had our own already.) The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and the food was 10/10!!!

  Good food and dog-friendly

  They do allow dogs on their outside patio. Make sure to go to the farmhouse restaurant Not the grill. There's two separate restaurants and only one has outside seating. We were also welcome to take our dogs thru the rest of area and even got treats at the hard cider tasting room.

  Great place!

  it rained all morning, but cleared up in the afternoon so I asked to sit on the patio and they hesitated at first but made it happen! the super sweet hostess wiped the table and chairs down. the server was also great, walking all the way outside to serve me.

  Be sure to go to the right one- all the way at the end of the apple barn area. Food was good, it was packed, they didn’t have servers for patio seating so we waited over a hour. servers we had were great!!!!

  The server offered to bring water for our dog right away. Wonderful food & great place to bring your dog! We took him for a walk while we waited for our table to become available. The manager came to our table to check on us & ask about our experience. Awesome lunch & the apple fritters are the best!

  Relaxing Patio Dining

  Had a wonderful supper surrounded by flowers on a brick patio. they were super friendly and provided water for the pup the food is delicious and generous portions.

  It depends

  Last labor day we attempted to visit the apple barn and were told that it would be almost an hour wait because they didn't have a server assigned to the outdoor section. I mean, a paying customer is a paying customer. We have always been very good tippers and it isn't like they didn't have a huge wait staff standing there waiting for a table. SERIOUSLY, it wasn't even busy. Not the greatest visit. They missed it by a mile this time.

  Beautiful patio and caring staff

  We took our German Shepherd to the patio of the restaurant and within minutes, the most caring staff members came out to greet us. They brought a dog bowl with water out and asked for permission to pet pur dog. We had a total of 4 employees coming outside (we were the only ones on the patio, it was March), and our dog loved it! Highly recommend the food too, this place is the best!

  Great For Pets

  Even though it was January we were able to sit outside on the patio. They turned on a heater for us so we could stay warm (just ask if they aren’t on). The food was great and service as always is very friendly. They have a great area to walk you pups and great out some energy. There is a coffee shop on property too! Always a hit for our family.

  The most dog friendly restaurant we’ve ever been to. First thing they brought out a bowl of water for our pup and then continued to fuss over him. Our waitress was the sweetest and the breakfast food was so good. When we are in the area again with our pup we will make sure to visit this place again!

  Paw-fectly wonderful

  We had a great experience at the Apple Barn Farmhouse restaurant. The hostess welcomed us to the patio and promptly brought our golden retriever, Daisy, a big bowl of water. The wait staff was friendly, the other patrons accepting of our furry friend, and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend.

  Wonderful Experience

  My husband and I and our doggie were here on vacation and we had already walked out of a restaurant kind of feelin upset at this point then found this restaurant and so glad we did! We started to walk to the patio and they were already out setting up our table giving us amazing apple fritters to taste and our dog some ice water. The food was out of this world! (had broccoli soup and chicken dumplings) Not only the food and atmosphere were great but our service with Shane was beyond excellent! He made our trip to Tennessee even better I would drive the 6.5 hours just to eat there again. So thank you Shane for making our trip even more delightful!

  Awesome Place And Great With Our Dog!

  As soon as we got there, they brought our dog a bowl of ice water as they handed us our menus. Over the course of the meal several employees came out to say hi and pet our English bulldog. Plenty of room for him to stretch out on the spacious patio. The food was wonderful, amazing country style food. Our dog enjoyed his hamburger as much as we did our meals. Highly recommend

  Awesome Dog Friendly Restaurant

  Great restaurant and extremely dog friendly. We were seated and our puppy was greeted with a big bowl of ice water. The food was delicious and the apple fritters with apple butter ate to die for! This was our favorite place to dine while vacationing with our puppy in the Great Smoky Mountains!

  This place has now been added to out must stop at places. The food was amazing service was great. They were very welcoming and even brought a big silver bowl of ice water for our Cookie. You have to check in at the front hostess then they walk you around to the patio with your dog

  The service today was amazing! It’s somewhere we always love coming to while down here but today made it an even better! We were seated and right then they brought her a water bowl and filled it with ice cold water! The waiter was so nice and they all made us feel very welcome! Plus we had live music :)

  Applewood farms has delicious food and top notch service, seating outside for pets. Before seating is they gave us a doggie water bowl with cold water, their attention to our fur baby was awesome. !!! Highly recommend this restaurant !

  Delightful lunch experience!

  We stopped here on recommend from Bring Fido. The staff was very accommodating and we were quickly seated outside patio. Our Lab was given nice cold dish of water. Our waitress,Penny, was friendly to us and our dog. We had cheddar broccoli soup that was yummy. My Quiche was delicious and my husbands chicken apple salad was ample and delicious. Service was great. Definetky recommend for a beautiful summer day!

  Deserves zero bones!

  I called ahead to confirm there was outdoor seating with my dog that was accessible for my dad in a wheelchair. I was assured yes. We checked in and when our name was called 30 minutes later they tried to seat me indoors. The hostess said she forgot we wanted outside and she would seat us ASAP. A half hour later we were the only people still waiting. My dad rolled over to view the patio and there was no one on it! I told her to forget it and I ordered takeout (same food) from the grill next door.

  Fantastic place to go to for food, with or without a dog! Great atmosphere, great service, wonderful food, beautiful scenery, caring & friendly attitude toward dogs! We originally went for a late dinner and returned the next day for breakfast. They serve an abundance of delicious food with each order. This place is well worth the money.

  Every meal experience at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is always prepared to perfection. The outside patio that allows pets is spacious with plenty of space between tables to give your dog room to spread out. Staff is fast and friendly service. This is a must dinning experience with your dog. Be sure to take them across the street to stroll along the river bank.

  Great Breakfast with my pooch!

  Be sure to realize there are two Applewood Farmhouse restaraunts! The first one is not the one work the outdoor seating. The one without the grill in the name is the one you want.

  Fabulous service, great patio. They take you through the emergency exit, so you have to go through the grass, but that's a small price to pay for the opportunity to eat with our puppy. I had the French toast and the boys had omelets. They have their menus online. Lots of grass by the passing lots to let dogs take care of "business.

  Great Service!

  Got settled on the Patio and a light rain started. Got a table with Two umbrellas close and had a nice time. This is an "Apple Complex" and the restaurant is the last building. Good food and Great attention!
