      Great food. Dog friendly

      we had a great experience. there were multiple dogs throughout the outdoor yet enclosed so cool seating area.

      Refused to seat me and my well behaved 10 lb dog

      Today The Smith restaurant would not seat me for 30 minutes because although they had available outdoor seating, they would not seat me with my well behaved 10 lb dog because they wanted to give me a designated "dog table." To my knowledge it's the law that dogs in NYC are allowed in outdoor seating. I gave my business to Bistro Cassis instead and they treated me and my dog like royalty. I live at 62 and west end and the smith used to be a regular haunt for me, but I won't give them my business again, inside or out. I have dined peacefully for years with my dog at the smith with no incident and am so disappointed with how they treated me.
