Mamoun's Falafel

Mamoun's Falafel on Howe Street in New Haven has three pet-friendly tables outside. Since opening their first location in 1971, Mamoun's Falafel has been one of the pioneers of Middle Eastern Cuisine in New York. One of the oldest falafel restaurants in the country, their menu is made up of original twists on recognizable meals, including vegetarian sandwiches and plates, like the falafel sandwich inside a pita bread with salad and tahini sauce. The pastries on offer include a baklava, filo dough with walnuts soaked in honey; knafe, shredded filo with pistachios soaked in honey; mabrumeh, filo dough with pistachios, walnuts, and almonds soaked in honey; and namoura, filo dough filled with homemade custard and topped with honey.
