  Remind them of the back patio!

  We were put off at first by the host who said there was no room for us (when we saw empty outdoor tables). I asked a server if there were any available and she took us to the back patio. She walked us right through the bar area to it! It was perfect! Under a canopy, away from the distractions of the street. There was plenty of room for Mia to spread out without getting her tail caught. The food is to-die-for! Warning: they pour their cocktails STRONG. They left a pitcher of water for us (I carry a collapsible bowl). There was a dachshund at the table next to us, so the secret is getting out.

  If Phoenix Had a Tail He Would Wag It

  Phoenix loves to dog watch at one of about 10 shady tables here. Ice water is served paw-side in clean metal bowls. The best Bloody Mary in town is served on the table up above. Friendly service in the heart of downtown—that’s plenty to wag about.
