No designated pet area
GreenTree Inn FlagstaffThe hotel itself was wonderful. Clean, friendly staff. Unfortunately there is nowhere to take your dog to relieve itself. Parking lot is surrounded by slopes covered in lava rock. Otherwise a 5 out of 5.

All was great except...
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Salt Lake City - LaytonUnfortunately, ignorant pet owners who do not pick up after their dogs! The grassy pet area was full of doggie doo! I can understand why there are fewer and fewer nice hotels that allow dogs! I have a service dog so never a worry usually, but we were transporting a rescue to her new home and thus required a pet friendly hotel. The room was nice, other than the carpeted floors, really should upgrade to vinyl plank if they continue to be pet friendly as we could definitely see stains from previous occupants.

Best dog friendly hotel
Baymont by Wyndham Yakima RiverfrontI don't know where to start! We normally stay in whichever hotel we want as I have a service dog, but on this trip we were transporting a Mexican rescue dog to her new home in Canada, so we required a pet friendly hotel. We were very surprised at the wonderful room we were assigned with a fridge, microwave and sliding doors to the dog area overlooking the river. No doggie poop on the grass that we could see. A lovely path runs along the river for walking. Friendly staff, great breakfast selection, and very convenient location just off the highway. We will definitely be back!
