Staff welcoming but the room was not

There is only 1 room available downstairs for pet accommodations and it was in horrible disrepair and filthy. I’m not a picky person but this was unacceptable. There were deep gouges in the sheetrock, bathroom door, etc. from previous naughty pets. Blood stains on the white feather comforter. Disgusting white stains all over the sofa. I don’t even want to know what that was. I couldn’t sleep because every time I laid on the pillow my nose would become stopped up; just an absolute miserable night.

The shower never got hot, was warm at best. Beautifully remodeled bathroom though! A plastic bag covered the fire alarm so the evening staff brought me a ladder so I could remove it. 2 decaf pods and no real coffee after the long night I really needed a cup so ended up getting it from the lobby. The list could go on. I did speak with the morning staff and was informed they would go in and paint the room. I had shared pictures of the damages so I would not be charged for them as it stated on the agreement. For as bad as the room was, it appeared as though they were completely unaware. This was my first stay in a La Quinta in years, I’m an IHG member but needed a place that welcomed pets. As is, I cannot recommend.
