Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roseville/Detroit AreaWe booked this hotel for a one-night stay, but checked out just minutes after checking in. Do not let the pictures, low cost, and lack of pet fee draw you in. Our "non-smoking" room was absolutely tiny and reeked of cigarette and marijuana smoke. This might have been due to the fact that the window was left open, but I doubt it. The room had to have been 80 degrees or more because of the open window. Luckily, the desk clerk was accommodating of our request for a refund and we were able to book a different hotel.

Shakespeare in the Park
Central ParkMy husband and I recently brought our GSD puppy for a performance of Twelfth Night during Central Park's Shakespeare Festival. All three of us had a great time! Seating is plentiful with benches and picnic tables, or you can bring chairs or blankets to put down on the lawn. Our pup whines at other nearby dogs if he isn't able to play, but there was plenty of space for us to move so as not to be disruptive. There are also food trucks and a bar for the humans to enjoy!

Great value and wonderful hosts!
Cotten's Sunset KennelsThe owners were very kind and accommodating! We were vacationing in the area and wanted a day to do some sightseeing and activities that weren't pet-friendly, so we booked a day of daycare for our German Shepherd puppy. He had a spacious kennel to himself as well as ample water and a comfy cot to lounge on. He still gets anxious without us, but the owners were very patient with him and he had a great stay!

Enjoyable Lunch on the Patio
TJ’s PubWe visited with our GSD for lunch while on vacation in the area. I thought the restaurant was busy for a Tuesday, but one of the waitresses was kind enough to serve us on the patio and offered our puppy a bowl of ice water to keep cool while we ate. The menu offers a nice selection of drinks as well as food; I had the Tropicolada cider from Blake's and the Cuban sandwich, and both were delicious! My only wish was for an umbrella as it was very hot outside with no shade. However, we visited during an unseasonably warm week and I imagine it would normally be much cooler, especially with the nice breeze blowing in off the lake.

Unique Cider Experience
North Channel Brewing CompanyNice patio that was well-shaded by the building the evening we ate here. We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer, I had the Pork Shoulder Sammy, and my husband ordered the Blackened Walleye Tacos. We brought our puppy's collapsible bowl and poured some of our ice water for him. They only have one cider on draft, but they offer different flavor additions to choose from, which I had never seen before. We were informed that our dog had to be on the outside of the fence while we ate, which I thought was strange.
