Quality Inn & Suites PeoriaThis place had awesome bedding so we all had a great night's sleep. Very welcome after a long day of driving. Ho breakfast capped off our stay. We have bookmarked this Quality Inn for future travels.
Good stay, except for noisy neighbors
Best Western Kelly InnNifty find. The hotel itself is well-maintained & hotel staff are excellent. Our room was spacious & bedding was extremely comfortable. Make sure you try Minerva's restaurant for dinner. The restaurant is on site with excellent food and service. My one complaint: the walls are paper-thin, and the people next door seemed to be having a dance party. I had to request the front desk ask them to hold it down, which worked. At least for a while. If I stay here again, I will request a room where adjacent rooms are unoccupied.
Simple but met our needs
Red Roof Inn Charleston West - Hurricane WVThe exterior of the hotel is showing its age. Weird lobby - more like an anteroom - that for some unexplained reason was inaccessible to guests. Clean room, great water pressure, luxury bedding. Go here if you need a no-frills stay that doesn't cost a mint. If you want fancy services, look elsewhere.
Cancelled after one night
Extended Stay America Suites Richmond West End I64So much for an extended stay. Checked into first room, which was filthy. Second room no better - musty smell, dingy carpet, aging bathroom, trash in bottom of trash bin, warped kitchen cabinets. Had to ask for, and hand-carry, plates, pits and pans, etc., to our room's "full kitchen." Toaster and coffee pot were unavailable when we checked in. There is no place to walk your animals. This is the type of stay that makes you want to take a shower. We planned to be at Extended Stay for two weeks. We braved one night
That was enough.
Very unassuming
Hilltop Inn by RiversageThis was a great first stop on our cross-country drive. Billings is a nice walkable town and Hilltop was situated in a great location, despite the oddity of sharing space with an adjoining hospital. Room was well kept, neat with comfortable bedding and clean bathroom. Decently priced room too. We will stay here again.
Meh, maybe I'd stay here again
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Indianapolis North at PyramidsBeds were comfortable and room was very clean. Minor touches were missed. Such as no box of tissues in bathroom. The hot breakfast included sausage patties (good) and powdered eggs (not so good). A reasonable accommodation - not great, not horrible - but other options for pet owners are close by the North Pyramid area.
Industrial-strength disappointment
Baymont by Wyndham Cedar RapidsAt least the room was clean and had a window ledge for our pet. The showerhead didn't function properly, so the tub fills with water as you shower. And the fan is busted. Neither of the side entrance doors lock securely. Expected higher standards from a Wyndham property.
Just. Don't. Do. It.
Econo Lodge OacomaA leaky faucet to which management was indifferent. The bare floor was coated in years of sludge from previous pets. The advertised pool & hot tub were out of service. The giveaway before you ever see the room is the odor. No amount of room deodorizer can fix what's wrong with this place. I begrudgingly give one bone, but that bone should be a fragment. People choosing this Econo Lodge are the ones getting boned.
