Nice hotel & room
Hampton Inn & Suites Tulsa South-BixbyStaff was very nice, hotel & room were both clean and updated. Must keep pets off furniture, of course, but besides that they're pretty accommodating for dogs. No designated area outside but lots of grassy areas & places around the hotel to walk & sniff.
Worth the higher price
Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Amarillo an IHG HotelSurprisingly no noise from the highway or the airport nearby. Room was clean, spacious, and had a fridge, microwave, & Keurig. Staff was very helpful and attentive. No fenced space for the mutt, but plenty of grassy areas. Would absolutely recommend.
Great staff, so so room
La Quinta by Wyndham GallupThe staff was very accommodating & patient. Had a very late check in with no problems and the lady and the front desk very patiently explained how to use the luggage cart in such a way that my sleep deprived brain could understand! Spoiler: you have to push the handle down to make it go forward; don't try to wheely it like me.
Pros: convenient (to the highway) location; allowed my 65 lb pup no problem & had a small designated doggy area out back; room was clean and orderly; bed was comfy; really well insulated walls & windows; standard continental breakfast.
Cons: close proximity to the train that runs at least every couple hours (the well insulated bit above was necessary) & my bathroom smelled like it had been cleaned with ammonia. Hubby didn't smell it but I found it to be super powerful. Although my room was next to the cleaning supply & laundry area so maybe there was a spill nearby? Overall a good experience though!
