Perfectly dog friendly hotel in a dog friendly town!

High Peaks Resort

We stayed here with our dog for 3 nights. They provide a food and water bowl, as well as a dog bed, to use while you're there, and give your dog a bandana to keep. Our room was on the ground floor, lakefront. We had a patio door, which was great. It snowed constantly the whole time we were there, but we brought our shovel, so we were able to use the patio for taking our dog out.
We weren't able to leave him in the room, because he was really anxious and barked the whole time. We were hoping to be able to do that based on Google reviews, but absolutely did not want to disturb other guests. We did leave our dog in the room to run to a grocery store that was only 4 minutes away, and the hotel staff very kindly told us our dog was barking and asked us to return. I'm was very thankful for that since I try to be mindful of those around me.
Lake Placid, in general, was incredibly dog friendly. We saw a ton of people walking their dogs around, and best of all, there were dog poop bags and garbages on almost every block!

Nice dog park

Cornwall Bark Park

I'll admit that this is the only dog park I've been to, but I can tell you it's very nice. There's two large fenced in areas, one for large dogs, and one for small dogs. There were plenty of toys there. Also lots of seating, and a nearby covered picnic area
