A Bork In the Night
La Quinta Inn by Wyndham BendBooked this hotel because of its handy proximity to 97 and some nearby relatives. I've got an 11 year-old corgi with mobility issues and a wheely cart and was distraught to learn that they'd booked us onto the 2nd floor (no elevators), at the far end of the building from the exit nearest the P-patch. I'm used to carrying my doggo, so I didn't push back when I realized what had happened. The p-patch is bleak but serviceable: outdoor trash for pet waste, and poop bags provided.
Overall this was a totally normal hotel experience. Continental breakfast was included and appreciated; toast, juice, coffee, muffins, waffles, tea, yogurt, etc. Didn't try the pool, there is no hot-tub. Parking was also included, although returning to the hotel one evening, we snagged the last parking spot. It is mere seconds away from a Dutch Bros., and across from an Albertson's. There's a Costco ~15 minutes driving away. So the amenities are there.
No one seemed bothered by us having a dog there. I did wake up at 3:30 one morning to the sounds of a dog barking in another room and may have muttered to myself something condemning folks who would bring a dog to a hotel before realizing present company. But that was really the only thing that kept me from getting solid sleep the ~5 nights we were there. TV was some 2000s model-- but it did have HDMI input. Wifi was included and mildly okay enough to stream. I don't think I'd want to take a work zoom meeting from it though.
Bend is a high altitude so remember to hydrate yourself and your 4-legged companions (if you're a sea-level snob like me and mine).
