Funky digs, pets welcomed
Hotel McCoy - Art Coffee Beer WinePros: near Interstate, walled, secure, nice pool and bar area. Cons: no real pet area (but, 10 min walk to a nice walk along a green space/park), very noisy a/c, wildly expensive vino at bar ($9 or so for a 4 oz plastic cup of house white - seriously?), breakfast pretty basic. Finally, the price is a bit of a stretch for pretty basic room (funky only goes so far).
Great location, pet friendly but limited
Hotel Casa de LeyendasPros: virtually on the malacon, large room, lovely rooftop patio (x2), very friendly and helpful staff!
Negs: nowhere to walk your pets except on the street leaving them somewhat desperate for relief. No parking but an off site compound can be arranged for 300-500 pesos. Really difficult to load/unload- entrance right on the street. Can be noisy with street traffic and revelry.
Perfect for fur babies
The Hotel SalemFriendly staff, sensible breakfast, easy freeway access, large grassy area adjoining, residential neighborhood so able to take our dogs for a long walk after hours in the car! Access via lobby seems it would be awkward, but not so. Trader Joe's and pharmacy very near for food and urgent supplies. Perfectly fine for a good nights rest with our two fur babies!
