It’s okay

As a fan of Graduate hotels, this one was ok. I love these funky/oddball hotels so much with their eclectic interiors and cheeky vibes, but this place is, well, off. Perfectly clean, friendly staff, decent food and drink, safe neighborhood were all fine, but the actual room was just creepy. Vinyl walnut wallpaper, fiber ceiling tile, thrift shop furniture all lent itself to a bad 70’s basement on the 10th floor. Dark and dank, it felt “unsafe.” Even the dog backed himself in the corner and was uneasy. Very dark room, desperately needed lamps. HORRID art (just because they are local artists, doesn’t mean they have talent) and a desperate lack of vision left me to wonder “has the Graduate” run its course?” Nice staff, but it was really hard to relax in a spacious dark room that felt “underground” with no exit. In a word, creepy.
