We are driving across the country, moving our son’s 16 month old cream retriever to the West Coast. We have a golden of our own (not making this trip!). Should be fun!

Easy Off I-84
Sleep Inn NampaThis hotel was fine. Clean but small rooms. Breakfast was the usual. We got there late so didn’t check out any amenities. There was a grassy area for the pup.
Right Off I-84
Best Western Plus Carousel Inn & SuitesNothing special here. Small, clean room. Nice grassy area for pups. Best if you are headed west and want to be on the other side of Boise.
Warm Welcome
Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites ROCK SPRINGS GREEN RIVER an IHG HotelOur golden was welcomed with treats and a water dish. Ground floor room was spacious with high ceilings and room for our pup to chase a toy a bit. Pool and hot tub open 24 hours and both were actually working! Breakfast was a level up from the usual. Nice.
Easy Interstate Access
Sleep Inn & Suites Bricktown - Near Medical CenterClose to the freeway, but not noisy. Clean. Grass all around building. Breakfast nothing notable. They offer a free shuttle to the Bricktown area that accepts dogs!
Nice One Night Stop
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham San AngeloNice large room with plenty of grass for our one night stop. Room was clean, pup was welcomed, and it was quiet. All the things!
Lots of Grass
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Amarillo I-40 West TXClean, good-sized room and lots of grass all around the hotel. Was concerned that nearby highway would be a problem, but it was fine.
Good stay
Hotel Santa FeDogs welcomed with a door tag and dog treat. We weren’t familiar with the area yet, which would have been helpful, but next day it was a very short drive to the Plaza. Hotel had no grassy spots, but was definitely clean and comfortable.
Great!
La Quinta by Wyndham FlagstaffThis was our favorite so far on this road trip. Our ground floor room opened to the courtyard (and fenced pool) so it was easy to take her outside. There were multiple green areas just for pups. The staff was always helpful and recommended Bow Wow Street Dogs for dinner (dogs welcome!)
Too Many Issues
La Quinta by Wyndham Las Vegas Summerlin TechThe room was large and clean enough. The location is definitely for those just “passing through” Vegas; business park area and not a lot of food options. The desk clerk did suggest the pub across the street that accepts dogs, and that was pretty good. Next to no green spots. And too many issues that did not seem to warrant attention (or we didn’t mention.)
Back door to hotel did not lock, nor the card reader work. I suspect locals were coming through in the morning for the free breakfast. Staff not concerned about the door. TV did not work until staff fixed. Lighting switch controlled all lights - either on or off. Guests smoking pot down the hall, but staff said it’s too hard to knock on all doors to find out who it is (I requested another floor but was told it was full). And, no hot water in the morning! Staff refunded us a small amount ($40) and we got out of there.
Nice and New
Element Reno Experience DistrictElement Reno Experience District is a new area of hotels and our golden was very welcome. There was no designated green space but it’s new enough that there looked to be space where one could be added (hint). We would definitely stay again.
Really Nice
My Place Hotel - Bend OrThis was the last night of our road trip and the space was just what we needed. There was a nice place to walk in the back. At first I thought it was a private driveway, but it led to a very nice neighborhood for walking.
