Very nice hotel

La Quinta by Wyndham Seattle Sea-Tac Airport

The space outside to walk the dogs was out of bags and it was a bit disheveled with just debris but all other areas seemed to be fair game. Some things were not working.: Ice machine on certain floors, pool was closed, some equipment for staff, but they are refreshing the rooms and my room was beautiful, as was the bathroom. I had to go before their breakfast so cannot comment on that. But the free airport shuttle is a giant perk with a large dog carrier and they did an excellent job carrying us to and from the airport, even if we waited about an hour to be picked up. They run every half hour. I sincerely appreciate La Quinta for sparing me having to try to get a non pet Uber which is all I have access to.

Otherwise, use Uber Pet if you end up at a hotel with no shuttle because most Uber drivers won't want you with dogs, though we were very fortunate in California because it's a big dog state. They were very kind about taking me with dogs, God bless them. Not so kind in other states even if you reserve a XL the night before and indicate you have two dogs. Great job La Quinta.. Make sure you use their wifi because your data won't work.

Good for Reno

Ramada by Wyndham Reno Hotel and Casino

I didn't want to get out of my Uber upon seeing the area in which this hotel was in. My Uber driver reassured me that it was safe and there was never an incident it bad thing said about this hotel. I said a quick prayer and got confirmation and got out. As a single female I didn't like to put myself at risk but God wouldn't have placed me there with said Uber driver to encourage me if it was not a good fit.

My dogs LOVED LOVED LIVED the doggy area. I had just come from posh South Lake Quality Inn which also loves dogs but they didn't have their own doggy area like this place has in the parking lot. Mine adored it so much I was constantly having to go down to take them to it because they kept begging.

It's true, the carpet needs cleaning, the elevator is a bit beat up, and the diner (which is delish) is in a very seedy, smoke-filled casino. And dogs are not permitted so I could only buy at their diner once.
But after speaking other guests, the rate I was getting was a giant blessing ($58). Because the events in Reno which apparently happen all the time shoot that price up into the hundreds quite often. And the place sells out. So given it is in Reno and Reno apparently has seedy locations. it's not unusual for the city to find pockets like this in commercial areas.

There are very skid row looking gamblers, prostitutes, and drug addicts/dealers that frequent the casino next door and tend to loiter the front of the hotel. But I was happy to see a security guard pushing them along at night when I would take the dogs to their cherished shrine of poo which was always clean; zen raked sand with trash and free bags to clean. Again, they felt very special as a result of that zen poo garden. Sand to pee in that absorbs. What could be better?

My bathroom looked brand new, new tile, be grout, it was clean and had everything a hotel bathroom provides. The faucets worked better than my previous rental apt. It was perfect for us, ubering to most locations, but the parking on the hotel side had very nice cars and no one was trying to break into them.

The skid row group are very much into their own life. I was never addressed or told anything by anyone loitering and they do not ruin the ability to stay on the premises, meaning hangout and enjoy their seedy casino. They do get run off in other establishments but not at the Ramada, and while I do not condone their lifestyle, I am grateful they are respected as individuals even while at rock bottom.

The staff is lovely and very accommodating. I did ask for a blanket which they provided immediately, for my older dog so he wouldn't sleep on the hard floor. They love the carpet and yes nice not to have to worry if they mark it, because the smells they pick up off it does make them act like they are outside and mine are very well trained to not inside, but with smells they might not remember they are inside.

So, it's great for the dogs and it's fine with me also (price and bathroom were spot on). The bed was clean and TV had FOX Sports so I could watch Women's FIFA. Uber knows where it is and we went to Pet Smart to buy kennels for our trip to Alaska so the savings on hotel fare was very handy. I consider the stay a blessing.

The diner did have very good fries and hamburger - typical burger joint style. But dogs can't go into the casino and mine were even coughing from the smoke so it's best not to take them in. Too bad the diner doesn't do room service. No room service but they have a list of delivery places to call for food. Denny's isn't far. And the place has twinkling lights on at night and you can see the more expensive hotels lit up on the non casino side from the doggie doo area at night. So that's nice.
