Okay, I guess
Publick House Historic Inn and Country Motor LodgeFirst of all the rooms are spacious. Very old and run down, but spacious. There were some spiders in my bed, but I killed them and that was fine - you are in the woods. Around 8 or 9 pm, I heard this noise in the room that sounded like heavy rain. I turned off the TV and realized it was coming from my bathroom and indeed it was. Water was pouring into my bathroom from the room above and I could hear someone taking a shower. I called the front desk and the response was, "Sometimes that happens when someone forgets to put the shower curtain inside the tub." Seriously?
They offered to bring towels for me to wipe it up in "a while" as the person at the front desk said she was the only person there. She showed up eventually (can't help being short staffed) and I wiped up the flood in my bathroom with the towels. Am I being oversensitive about this? I don't think so. Otherwise, nice location. The actual inn is very nice and the folks at the front desk were friendly. They give you free muffins for breakfast in their "bake shop" that looked like they came from Costco. The real pastries that are displayed in the case - you have to pay for. I purchased a scone and it was delicious. The free muffin tasted like it came from a package that had a pile of them in it.
