Not super pet friendly

The park itself is fine, and quite pretty with good facilities and plenty of space, although the campsites vary WILDLY in quality. However, just like all NY State Parks, it has a lot of rules that make it very difficult to camp with a dog, especially alone. Dogs aren't allowed on the hiking trail, at the swimming area, or in the bathroom/shower building, but ALSO can't be left unattended under any circumstances. When camping alone with my dog, this put me in a really frustrating position where I couldn't use any amenities and had to break the rules just to use the restroom.
