Great for our needs
Crowne Plaza Providence-Warwick Airport an IHG HotelHotel and grounds were great. More green space than a dog could wish for. Only 4 bones because the restaurant menu was very limited, and the bar was closed (sign said for private event). We stayed two nights and it never opened and we never saw an event. Just tell the truth rather than try to mislead. Front desk staff was professional but was less than helpful at other times. Really, no cash available to make change so staff topping purposes. No complimentary breakfast or coffee. Crowne Plaza is held to a higher standard. Despite the negatives, it was a great location for us and a decent value. Would stay again.
Outstanding
Algonquin Resort St Andrews by-the-Sea Autograph CollectionLoved the old character without sacrificing 5-star accommodations or service. Hotel was busy, but check-in was smooth. Tons of green space for the dog and there were lots of dogs. Clearly very family friendly, tons of available activities. Of course the great view. Only there for one night, but have loved longer. Never left the property, the main restaurant was very good; pricey, but expected and worth it. Five bone property all the way.
Exceeded expectations
Future Inns HalifaxLocation turned out great for us and the things we wanted to see, close to Peggy's Cove and Lunenburg. Easy access to highway without the noise. Close enough to downtown Halifax if that is your desire. No courtesy breakfast, but coffee in room. Normally don't eat in hotel restaurants, but the Redwood Grill was very good for both room service and dine in. Very pet friendly, our boy wore down the crew at the front desk and got lots of treats. Staff was very pleasant and efficient. Lots of green space for the dog. Great stay, room was clean and comfortable as well. Futures won't disappoint.
Disappointing
The Freeport Hotel, Ascend Hotel CollectionRooms recently updated in old motel. Had issue with whatever was being used to clean carpet caused allergies to kick in. Worst check-in experience ever, took nearly an hour to check-in 4 guests. Certainly did not live up to Choice standards I have come to expect especially at the rate paid. While the inside was nicely done, the outside is being let go. No good grassy areas, but plenty of weeds. Breakfast was average.
Pleasant stay
White Birches MotelBargain compares to other hotels in area. Older property but rooms are nicely renovated. Grassy areas plentiful, but may be steps involved. Staff were all nice, office even had treats for two- and four-legged guests. No breakfast, but coffee in room. Good location to visit Acadia NP.
Great Stop
Drury Inn & Suites Poplar BluffDrury never disappoints. Complimentary drinks and meal always is a treat and defers the higher rates. Lot if nice areas fir dog walking. Room was great and staff was on the ball.
Super nice hotel
The CodyHotel was great, staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Great space for dog walking, good view from balcony. Had power outage one morning, but not hotel controllable. Got an earlier start in Yellowstone, so it worked out. Pains me say that Cody the town was not pleasant this time. Restaurants all close early and reservations required without really letting you know that reservations are advised. Guess residents and businesses were just tired of tourists and couldn't wait for the season to end. Customer service was lacking nearly everywhere, not the friendly western town we remembered. Yellowstone awesome as always, Town of Cody not so much.
Better than expected
Red Lion Hotel Templin's on the RiverAttracted by the rate, just traveling through for one night. The hotel us a little tired. Old cars in parking lot made us think that there are some living there full time, made the place feel sketchy. Despite the age, the room was clean and better than hallways. Great spacious area to walk the dog. Hotel sits right on the river, beautiful. Rarely eat at a hotel restaurant, but this one was really good, highly recommend. One if the best meals we had on a 5 week trip.
Loved Location
Seashore Inn on the BeachDefinitely would stay again. Right on the beach, staff was super helpful despite end of a packed weekend and being located at the finish line of the Hood to Coast run, super busy. Room was in an out building, probably because the dog, but was updated and very nice. Only downside was paper thin walls and a noisy family upstairs, and a loud barking dog next door. After complaining to the desk, things quieted down. Despite being right on the beach, there were still nice grassy areas for dogs. Highly recommend this hotel.
Stay Here
Drury Inn & Suites Albuquerque NorthLodging in Albuquerque a little higher than what we are used to, but Drury is worth a little extra. Always clean and welcoming. Max and the GM really helped me out with some business communication back home. Free drinks and heavy appetizers at Drury always welcome. Our dog was happy to find some grassy areas as well. Breakfast was extensive and good. Great place to stay.
Really Nice
La Quinta by Wyndham PuebloJo at front desk was very helpful and pleasant. In fact all staff were great. Lots if good grassy areas for the dog and stocked with bags in multiple locations. Because we travel with our pup, we stay at La Quinta a lot. This was one of the cleanest and quieter ones we have run across. Gave 5 bones even though breakfast was bare minimum and the sofa has seen its better days. Having Cracker Barrel a short walk next door was very convenient.
Better than expected
Yellowstone Gateway InnSpacious, the separate bedroom was great. Super convenient to Yellowstone, market, and multiple restaurants. Neighborhood even had elk and deer at night. Our dog was very happy to finally see grass again.
Great stay
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Winchester VAWould have gotten 5 bones if dog walk area was a little better. Good enough for our little guy, he is not picky. Room on ground floor was super convenient, staff was very accommodating. Stayed two nights and would stay again if in the area. Old downtown made a pleasant afternoon.
Exceeded expectations
La Quinta by Wyndham Macon WestOne night stay on way home. Front desk welcome was best of entire trip, all smiles and friendly! She really wanted to greet our boy and give hum extra love. Room was great, ground floor right by the side exit closest to the dog walk area, which was pretty spacious and mostly cleaned up, especially considering there quite a few a larger dogs on property. It is not the dogs fault that some owners don't pick up.
Love Drury
Drury Inn & Suites Nashville AirportThis was our second stay at a Drury Inn, and again it was a great experience. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. Allowed us to check in way early because we were not aware that Nashville was on central time, very cool. The room itself was the beat of the trip, clean, great layout, and spacious. Located in a corner by the elevator and still quiet! Was able to recharge watching college football before our night at the Grand Ole Opry. Location was great too, only 10 minutes drive to the GOP. Complimentary dinner and drinks in the evening is huge bonus to road weary travelers. Only negative, the only place to walk the dog was off property next to the hotel, but everything else still rates 5 bones. Drury will be our first choice when available.
Great one nighter
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Abingdon VAWould get 5 bones with a better dog walk area. No grass except by dumpster area behind restaurant next door. Fortunately, our guy isn't very picky, and it was not an issue for is. Room cleanliness, size, and ground floor location was great. Would definitely stay again
Good overnight
La Quinta Inn & Suites Summersville / New River National ParkGood but not great, hotel kind of sits in shopping center parking lot. Only one strip of grass for the boy, but he is small and not picky, so it worked for is. Might be issue for big dogs. Room was good, breakfast met expectations. Would stay again despite lack of property external esthetics.
Very Nice
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Boone UniversityRoom was clean and staff was helpful. Felt safe as adequate covid requirements were mostly followed. Would have given 5 bones had it not been for the dog walk area. It was small, and thanks to inconsiderate people that don't pick up, a bit if a minefield, and there wasn't much in the way of options. Not the hotel's fault, but opportunity to improve rating. Property was very picturesque a good value for a one night stay.
Good Stop
La Quinta by Wyndham BransonNice room, but dirty hotel entrance made bad first impression. Even after pointing out the mess to the staff, it was still there the next morning. Service was kind of what you expect in a high traffic tourist area, courteous, but not doing any more than required. Enjoyed our short stay in Branson, but hotel missed to opportunity to enhance our stay. Could have gotten 4 bones with a little effort.
Great location
Holiday Inn Sioux Falls-City Centre an IHG HotelWanted to be downtown close to Falls Creek, and the property certainly accomplished that. Seemed like lively area, but were tired so we just ate at the hotel. That was a big surprise! We enjoyed one of the best meals of our trip. Only reason not to give 5 bones.
Great Stop
Staybridge Suites Cedar Rapids North, an IHG HotelAddress confused our navigation system, and area looked a little sketchy on arrival, but it was not. Not a lot of places for the dog, but he is little and doesn't need much green space to take care of his business. Room was great, what we have come to expect from Staybridge, even though Bring Fido listed it as a Country Inn and Suites. Obviously the property had converted to a Staybridge, and the pet fee went from the advertised $25 of BF to $50. All in all it still a good value. BF did offer to help with the difference, but since Staybridge normally has a $75 pet fee, we were still ahead. Staff was average, but breakfast was very good.
Outstanding
Clubhouse Hotel Suites Sioux FallsEverything was great. Hotel is beautiful, grounds were beautiful, location was convenient to everything. Huge green areas for the dog. Loved having hallway and exterior entrance to the room on the ground floor. Hotel connected to Johnny Carino's restaurant, which is so convenient!! Meal was great and reasonable. Room was across the hall from the pool area, but still could not hear noise, great soundproofing. This was our second stay at a Clubhouse property, and highly recommend their properties. Wish there were more of them across the country. We were on the road for 3 weeks, and the Clubhouse properties ranked first and second overall. Oh yeah, breakfast was also better than normal as well. Stay at Clubhouse whenever you get the chance, great value.
Fabulous
Clubhouse Hotel & Suites PierrePierre was not an original planned stop, but worked out great. Made a short drive to the Badlands and Wall Drug, gave us ample time at both places before driving into Custer State Park. This was our first experience with a Clubhouse, and it was impressive. Had no idea that our room consisted of a large living area and separate bed and bath. Could have lived here comfortably for an extended stay. The hallway entrance and the exterior entrance made it super convenient to access hotel amenities and outdoor areas for the dog. The restaurant attached to the hotel was another great experience. Meal was great, and the service was better. Overall great value, highly recommend this or any other Clubhouse property. The rest of the chains need to pay attention, this is how it should be done for travelers with pets.
Pleasant Surprise
Monument Inn & SuitesWasn't sure when room was booked, but turned out to be a great one night stop. Hotel wasn't in the location we thought, but it turned out great. Room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Great areas to walk the dog. Saw some pretty cool custom vehicles on their way to car show in Mitchell NE.
Less than expected
Comfort Inn Bloomington Near UniversityAfter reading reviews about exceptional receptions for dogs, we were disappointed. That was not our experience. Staff was efficient, but not exceptional. Hotel is getting a little tired, but kind of expected that for the price. There was a nice area to walk the dog, and the side door made it easy to get in and out without going through the lobby. Overall, adequate for a one night stay.
Great last minute booking
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lake CityHad to change destination at last minute, and after an additional 1.5 hour drive, the welcoming staff and nice room was a welcome relief. Have stayed at many La Quintas and this is the only time we ever received a welcome bag of treats for our pooch. Room was very comfortable. Would have been 5 bones except there much in the way of nice grassy areas to walk the dog.
