Great semi-private park

BARC Park at Hannah More Park

I’ve been taking our cavapoo here for about a year now, typically several times a week.
There is a .75 acre small dog area and a 1.5 acre large dog area, both stocked with several bag stations, trash cans and water fountains/spigots.

Overall the park is well maintained. The grass is kept at a nice height, the trash cans are emptied at a nice interval. There’s some agility equipment in both areas that largely goes unused by park goers.
I really like that the park is semi-private and requires registration to get the code to enter. I feel better knowing all the dogs are fully vaccinated and the extra steps to register make me think the owners probably take as good care of their dogs as I do. The codes are changed annually or on an as-needed basis and there is a separate code for the large and small dog areas. Owners are generally good about not bringing large dogs into the small dog area. There are a fair number of regulars that tend to be in a group, so being a newcomer can probably feel a little intimidating though everyone I’ve met has been extremely accommodating and nice.

Something to note is the water is shut off in the winter to prevent the pipes from freezing, so please bring water for your pup if you’re coming from about November to March.

Also note that some trash will naturally collect in some corners due to wind. Perhaps be a pal and do a quick bit of trash pickup while you’re waiting for your doggie to finish their play time :)
