Perfect location

Surf Inn

Just stayed for one night to check this place out for a longer stay down the road. It was nice, clean, and close to the places I wanted to visit. I will definitely return. Nothing fancy, but met all my and my dogs needs. The check-in time window is just 3 hours…from 3pm to 6pm which I would have preferred check-in to go at least until 9pm. That being said, my dog was happy, so I was too. Will stay here again and will recommend to friends.

Very Convenient

Carmel Garden Inn

Stayed here for 3 nights in April and had a great time. Very close to the many restaurants and shops, walk to the beach, and very friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again. Nice patio space for my dog to relax, good size bedroom area. bathroom on the smaller side, as was the kitchenette.

Great, dog-friendly location

Svendsgaard's Inn

This place is right in the middle of the shopping/eating part of town, and a short walk to the beach. The room was good and the price was fair. I would have given 5 stars except the location of the room I was given, was within close proximity of a lot of foot traffic. The room was next to the parking lot on one side, the pool on another, and the sidewalk where people were walking by pretty regularly. I usually rent cabins or cottages when I travel with my dog, partly because I like more privacy, but also because she is on alert whenever we stay somewhere new, and every time she hears somebody outside the room, she is more likely to bark a little to let them know she’s aware. Obviously, I don’t want to be a nuisance to my adjacent neighbors, so I probably should have asked upfront this time before getting my room, to ask for a room in a location with minimal foot traffic. I will stay here again, but will definitely ask for a more private location at the inn.

Great Location

Tamarack Lodge and Resort

I love staying at this property, and it’s very dog friendly…both on grounds and also on all the trails nearby.
I am left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the $30 per night fee, especially considering they don’t provide anything for that. I’ve stayed at other locations that have a nice gift bag for my dog…usually has a few items like some dog treats, poop bags, maybe a toy. Since it’s a lakeside property, even providing a separate dog towel for drying off after playing in the lake would be a nice touch. What I don’t understand is why the extra $30 a night, if they still take a pet deposit in case of any cleaning or damage issues? My dog is extremely well behaved and never creates more work for the cleaning staff. I’d feel better about the pet charge if it was a stay fee, instead of a nightly fee…and if they actually showed some love for my pet by providing something for that fee.
