Amazing Care of Bedraggled Evacuee Family

Recently we were evacuated from our home in Goleta, CA during the Cave Fire. The mandatory notice came late in the evening.

With one extended family, two households, and six pets involved, I zoomed to BringFido to locate a nice motel in Solvang which might accept large dogs. Unable to book online on short notice, I called the staff at Hadsten House and oh my gosh, WHAT a kind reception in every sense of the word. We were advised to come immediately, rooms would be held for us without reservation or payment guarantee, usual limit on number of pets waived, “rack rate” offered as an emergency courtesy, and could they offer us food/hot drinks, or anything at all to help make us more comfortable?

Upon arrival, the two female staff (how I wish I could remember their names but too overwhelmed at the time) were kindness itself. Our family and our pets felt welcomed and nurtured. The accommodations were perfect, beds extremely comfortable, rooms immaculate, location extremely convenient, and the FREE full fresh-cooked Danish breakfast was comparable to that of local restaurants (not an easy challenge, they’re terrific!).

We were impressed with Hadsten House on every level. Had there been energy (or a petsitter) I feel confident that we would have enjoyed their lovely enclosed pool, as well.

Our family would like to extend our sincere gratitude to all of the staff who so facilitated our stay over a busy holiday, warmly welcomed us, and inquired as to our comfort during our two-day stay.

From the happy faces in the dining room and all around us, others were enjoying their vacation-holiday stays, as well.

Convenient...but
