Not great
Best Western of WalterboroCarpet had holes, room had an odor. The room is extremely dated. The outside area for the dogs was very nice.
Dated but acceptable
La Quinta by Wyndham FlorenceThe hotel is in need of an update, cleanliness was acceptable. We only stayed one night, so it was fine. This would not be acceptable for a long stay. There may be a green area for pets, but I didn't find it and our pooch didn't like doing his business in rocks.
clean
Hampton Inn Dunnthe room was very clean, and you could not tell that there ever was a dog in the room
Room 187, noisy HVAC and room smelled
Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke RapidsWe stayed in room 187, and I had to turn off the HVAC because it was so loud. The room smelled of cat urine. This is the third hotel/motel in this area (Northern NC/Southern VA) and all three have been disasters. All the pet friendly rooms seem to be rooms no one else would want. They all have noise and pet smells. When I go into a hotel room, I don't want odors, it should appear to me that no one has stayed in the room prior to me. These hotels should take a lesson from the Holiday Inn Lake Buena Vista in Florida, we have stayed there numerous times in a pet friendly room, normal HVAC noise and NO SMELL.
Exceeded expectations
Holiday Inn Resort Orlando - Lake Buena Vista an IHG HotelThe hotel exceeded expectations. The room was very clean and there was zero evidence that this was a pet friendly room (no odor or carpet markings). My only negative comment is that the dog walking area is extremely narrow.
Room had an odor
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson Richmond I-95 South VAThe room smelled like a wet dog. The room was very dated. I would not stay there again.
