Mildew smell

The room seemed clean but the odor was so bad it gave me a headache. I tossed and turned and slept maybe 3 hours. We talked about requesting another room but I just didn’t have it in me to deal with it. Bought plug air fresheners which helped a little. Saw later there was s large spot on the ceiling leaking/mildewing. Assuming that was the issue. But the outside area at the entrance nearest our room/car was nasty. Stains, cigarette butts, marks as if it had not been attended to in quite some time. Won’t stay there again. Definitely not the 4 bones I saw when I booked the room.
