Clean room but...

The room itself was clean, easy to access and had a no hassle check-in process. However the room did smell like cigarette smoke. I am giving it a 4 bones only because it was on the newer side and was clean and didn't look dirty or unkempt.

Okay with friendly front desk lady

The hotel was outdated and we were put on second floor and the nice lady behind the desk told us we needed to access room by stairs, no elevator. This was the only downfall. Not easy with two dogs and a crated puppy but we managed. The hotel was old and musty smelling but definitely better than some I stayed in as it was clean and not cigarette smelly.

Not a Safe Location

Nice room with a no hassle, quick check in. Staff were friendly, helpful and dog friendly. Room was nice, spacious and clean. Here comes the HOWEVER. First night my car which was parked in their front parking lot was broken in to. I realized this very early in the morning and reported it to a staff member outside. She did tell me that "We need to do something about these things" which indicated to me that I wasn't the only one that this has happened too.

I was attending a dog competition and when I got back that evening I made sure at the front desk that they had it in their records. I did assure them that I had nothing of value, and based on this, nothing was stolen. The next evening when I arrived back to the hotel a NO Liability Sign for the hotel was in place in the parking lot saying that they were not responsible for any theft, loss or damage to guests vehicles. The last night I stayed, I was immediately woken up by blasting music that was coming from the back parking lot outside my first floor room.

I waited for many minutes to see if it would be turned off and when it was not, I went to the window to find a truck pulled in to a space and a guy outside the rear of it standing on the hotel sidewalk. I gave a hand signal to him to turn down the music and realized from his incoherent screaming and swearing at me that he was drunk and obviously angry. He didn't think anything amiss to be blaring music in a hotel parking lot in the evening with guests.

I went to the front desk to report this and the one staff member said she would call the police (I never saw anyone show up outside in this area). The other staff seemed to ignore me and what I was saying totally. I got the impression once again that they had been experiencing certain things and seemed to want to ignore the issues hoping they would go away. Not one staff member ever approached me on trying to rectify or make better what I had experienced. I never asked for anything from them, but felt that they should have offered at the very least, something.

This location was near a corner gas station and less than 1 and half miles from route 95. It was obvious the location was a major factor in attracting criminal activity. Always loved the Hyatt chain and never had any issues before, like this. Will not go back to this hotel, ever. Based on Hyatt's handling on this matter, might not stay with them at all.

Non Smoking Room Smelled Like Smoke

Room was clean, however, smelled like cigarette smoke and had cigarette burn holes in bedspreads. Wasn't the worst I have stayed at but was far from the best.

Least Favorite Stay

I give this hotel 2 stars because the staff at desk were super nice and dog friendly. However the room was outdated, dirty, and smelled of cigarette smoke that permeated every square area of the room. Awful. This hotel needs a major renovation.

Amazing Stay

Best hotel I have stayed at with my dog thus far. Staff was super dog friendly. Suite, was clean and spacious. Haven't stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott before and based on this stay will book with them if possible.

Nice hotel…will stay there again

Really liked this La Quinta. Newer, clean, and reasonable. No pet fee is a plus as well. I recommend it.
