Given the room from hell, but the staff made good
Quality Inn & Suites BethanyWhen I saw that the staff at this hotel gave me a room right inside an exit door, I asked if there was a lot of traffic--I was traveling 8 hours the next day and needed a good night's sleep. The woman said no one ever uses that door. She lied. The door slammed shut (the temp was 7 degrees btw) 36 times in one hour. At 10 p.m. I called the front desk, and they said if there are a lot of smokers, the door was used often. I should have known. The grass was littered with hundreds of cigarette butts, with no receptacle. The parking lot was filled with roofing and other construction vehicles, and the workers stood outside my room smoking, laughing and talking loudly right outside my window. It's apparently an often-used spot for transient laborers. The woman on the desk apologized and gave me a room on the 3rd floor. So they made good. But it was a nightmare to move me and my pup into a new room.

Clean and convenient!
Fairfield Inn & Suites GallupGreat place to stop. Stayed away from Albuquerque because I was robbed at a hotel there in December. This location is just off the interstate, but they had someone patrol the lot every hou at 10, had video cameras and the police patrol as well. High crime in New Mexico, but these people were prepared. Friendly staff, clean hotel!

Great place to stay!
La Quinta by Wyndham FlagstaffThis is a beautiful property. Rooms were clean. Staff was pleasant. Adequate space for doggie to do his business with pet bags to boot! Great breakfast. The floor was not carpeted, which was a plus. But when my neighbors ran their shower, it was REALLLY loud in my room. Overall a good experience.

A Nightmare Come True--I Was a Crime Victim Here
Quality Inn & Suites Albuquerque Downtown UniversityMy car window was shattered here, and a bag was stolen from it! This property has a lot of work to do. I had a first floor room right next to Door D, which made a very loud slamming noise each time a guest came through the door. My security lock on my room door would not close and was obviously broken. The key card entrance apparatus on Door C was hanging there, not attached and unusable. The carpet in the room was stained with what looked like pet urine. There wasn't a lot of space for my dog to do his business outside, and what little lawn there was was littered with dog feces. The staff at the front desk was helpful in calling the police for the break in. But the manager who "was on her way" never arrived, and so the police officer could not access the video footage from the parking lot. The cop told me that Albuquerque is No. 1 in the country for violent crime, car theft and car robbery. My car was parked right in front of Door D, and still it was vandalized. None of the other cars around me were. Don't stay here.

Had a "Bates Motel" vibe
American Inn of LiberalThis hotel scared me as a single woman traveling alone with my dog. There was actually a glass booth for check in at the hotel entraance, but I used the lobby, which looked just like the one in Psycho, without the taxidermied animals. The property is in much need of an update, with worn, tired furnishings and fixtures. The room was carpeted, with carpet that could have used cleaning. I gave them one bone because the sheets and fixtures appeared clean. I had to walk a long distance to the highway to find a tiny patch of grass for doggie business, which was dangerously close to the road. The concrete retaining wall next to the hotel was crumbling. My neighbors were loud and arrived late at night. It was WAY more expensive than it should have been. But I was too scared to leave to find another place.

Clean and quiet
Red Roof Inn CameronThis property was clean and quiet. I liked the laminate floor instead of carpet. There were only small grassy areas for doggie business.
