Overall a good experience
Drury Inn & Suites PaducahGreat location near highway. I guess that is why the hotel was packed with truckers. My room was fairly clean and quiet and my dogs slept well so I did too. Hotel provided a place to dispose of poop bags and the grassy areas were fairly clean. Food is provided during “happy hour.” Nothing great but all edible and this is included in room cost.
Pricy but worth it!
Drury Inn & Suites Mt VernonThis hotel was a winner for me. Room was clean, comfortable and my two dogs and I had a good night sleep. I loved the “wine, beer and food” hour at the end of the day. After my long drive it was nice to have that complimentary treat right in the hotel and not have to leave for food. Grass areas around the hotel were adequate for walking dogs around. Pet fee added to cost but the free food and drink “offset” the pet fee a bit and my restful night was worth paying a few dollars more.
Great location but noisy
La Quinta by Wyndham Birmingham HooverWe had a similar experience to several other reviewers. Hotel is in a great location (easy on and off interstate). Lots of green spaces around hotel to allow dogs to relieve themselves and I appreciated the two waste collection stations which made it convenient to throw away poop bags. The room was clean enough for my standards and really liked having a room with no carpeting. Heavy disinfectant or air freshener smell in hallways. Not sure what that was about. My only complaint was noise in hallways throughout the night kept my dogs ( two mini Aussies) up and “on alert” so I was up and on alert trying to control their barking. Every little sound seem to come right through the walls. Loved the price of the room and the fact that dogs could stay free but probably won’t stay here again due to noise and lack of sleep. I am willing to pay more for a good night's sleep.
